[ Misunderstood: Ch. 16 ]

"J-Jack I'm sorry... I just.." I stuttered and looked down.

Jack narrowed his eyes, "You what?"

Daniel stepped in, rage clear in his eyes. His jaw was clenched, and rage actually looked really... hot on him... "Okay, Listen Jack, she has every right not to explain to you!" Daniel spat, "You yourself did something way more drastic than that and now you're putting the blame on her?! That's sick. Go back to Lucy. I'm sure she misses you, or maybe go find a new girl to do."

My eyes widened.

*Daniel's POV*
I saw her eyes widen when I got done ranting and I was afraid I had overstepped my boundaries when suddenly she ran to me and I engulfed her in a hug. I felt her sob into my chest and instantly I glared at Jack, but he wasn't looking at me.

He was staring at the ground. He knew that he was the one who had caused the tears. I picked Devilla up and she put her arms around my neck, wrapping her legs around my waist.

I held her tight, walking over to my car and I lightly set her in the passenger seat. She hid her face in her hands as I climbed into the drivers seat.

Twenty minutes later, I pulled into her driveway. I picked her up bridal style and she smiled slightly. I smiled too, knowing she felt better.

I brought her into the house and set her on the couch. "I'll be going.. I don't want to intrude..." I turned around to leave but she caught my wrist, pulling me into the couch beside her.

"Don't leave.. please.." she said quietly.

"I won't if you don't want me to..." I responded.

*Devilla's POV*
I looked at him. Damn, I wanted to kiss him so bad... before me, myself, knew what was happening, my lips crashed onto his.

*Daniel's POV*
I stared at her... I wanted to kiss her desperately, but I don't think she likes me like that... I mean.. what she said- my thoughts were cut off as she kissed me. My eyes widened, but I didn't hesitate to return it this time.

Her arms went around my neck and I put mine around her waist. I smiled and I think she could tell because she stopped for a minute, literally inches away from me and looked into my eyes. She broke out into a big smile and then kissed me again.

I was kissing the girl I liked, no loved... she meant a lot to me and I would do anything for her.. even if we weren't dating.

Then there was a knock at the door, making us jump and pull away quickly.
