TMNT FANFIC: Lost and found

Torn

Raph watched in horror as his father was carried away, unconscious from the ray they'd used to shock him.
He scrunched his hands into fists, breath quickening.

"Step forward." A man ordered from nearby, referring to Leo who remained frozen in his place.
"Leo," Raph whispered, clutching his older brother's hand. "Are you ok?"
It was a pointless question, one that he already knew the answer to. But right now, he needed to make sure his brother was aware of the short temper these soldiers seemed to possess.
"Y-yeah Raph, I'm fine." Leo murmured, stepping onto the platform.

"Alright, what's your power." The man demanded, nodding towards the target.
Leo flashed him a doubtful look, swallowing hard. 
"I can't control it." He sighed, squeezing his eyes shut at the mocking laugh he received.
Raph watched as the scene played out, seething with anger at the sight of this man picking on his brother. He knew the sheer danger of Leo's powers, a reason as to why he feared for his life. Leo's abilities would surely have him executed, something Raph would never let happen. The man's cackling soon ceased as he rounded on Leo again, holding a limestone blade up to his throat.
"I thought I told you to show me your powers freak." He bellowed, shoving Leo towards the target.
Blinking back tears, Leo complied, closing his eyes. Seconds later, a rumbling sound could be heard from outside, followed by flashes of lightning. The whole of Leo's eyes shone silver as stepped forward. Lightning shot from his fists, as he twisted around to look at the man.
Behind him, the target snapped in two, clanging to the ground.
"Argh" Leo screamed, clutching his head as sparks sprinkled across the station, objects rising from the floor before being thrust back down.
"STOP THAT!" Several soldiers had formed a circle around Leo who arched back in agony, glass collapsing to the ground as every light shattered, bathing the station in darkness.
"STAB HIM!" A commander ordered, raising his spear, only to be shoved out of the way by Raph, who stood infront of his brother as protection.
"STAY AWAY FROM HIM!" Flames bursts from his fists as he glared at the soldiers, who retreated slightly.

Raph turned to Leo, kneeling next to his brother, who'd sunk to the floor.
"Hey buddy, listen, it's ok. Just breathe in and out, just like me. Don't worry about what's going on around us, just focus on my voice." He comforted, remembering the similar words his father would say to Leo any time he'd lost control before.

He ran a hand through his brother's soft brown hair, touching the golden streaks that ran through it.
The weather outside calmed, as did Leo's eyes, returning to their usual sapphire blue.

"Alright get up freaks." A voice spat from above them, as more soldiers packed together.
"Raph," Raph stared down at his brother, who pressed something in his hand. "Keep this for me, please...I carved it a while ago but haven't had the chance to give it to you. Just...just use it to remeber me by." He whispered, rising to his feet. Raph's eyes widened as he clung to his brother, slipping the gift in his pocket.
"What are you talking about Leo?I'm not leaving you..." He whimpered, not caring how vaunrable he sounded.
"Transport the fire one...execute the other..." The commander ordered, watching as his men shoved their way towards the boys. One soldier in particular, swung his blade towards Raph.
Everything seemed to happen so quickly. The blade sent for Raph, never arrived. Instead his blood curdling screams could be heard as Leo was dragged off, having jumped infront of his brother, blade slicing through his chest.
"NOOOO..." Raph tore past the soldiers, reaching out for his older brother. "LEAVE HIM ALONE!"

Excruciating pain shot through his body, leaving him crumpled on the ground. Through his blurred vision, he caught sight of his older brother for the last time, the words his Leo would sing to him echoed in his mind as he sunk into blackness.
"Once there was a way, to get back homeward. Once there was a way, to get back home, sleep pretty darling, do not cry......and I will sing a lullaby..."
