Claire placed Randy in the corner of her closet. She sat him up straightly. "This is your punishment for getting me caught by papa."

She crouched from under the hems of her clothes that were hanging above her on the hangers.

Randy stared blankly ahead. Claire sighed and placed her hands on her hips. "If it makes you feel better I'll keep the light on so it's not too dark. It would be mean to keep you here in darkness because too much darkness to not good." she said, quoting her father.

She was about to leave but she turned around again to warn her stuffed animal, "And no moving out of time-out. Or next time I won't leave the lights on."

Claire huffed in triumph, closing the door and skipped back to her bed. She yawned loudly. A few minutes later Castiel walked in the room.

"You ready for bed?" Castiel asked as he made his way over to his daughter's bed.

Claire nodded. "Bed time story?"

"I'm afraid not tonight, papa's extra tried." Castiel said accompanied by an apologetic smile, earning a pout from Claire.

Castiel smiled, lifting a hand to tuck back a loose strand of hair behind her hair. He leaned over to give her a soft kiss on the forehead. Cas lifted up the comforter up to her chin. "Good night Claire."

"Night papa." she said, voice becoming drowsy. She turned on her side and snuggled up in her covers.

Castiel hummed and closed the door, leaving it a crack open.

Claire snuggled into the covers and turned on her side. After a couple of seconds she turned on her other side. Usually she slept with Randy next to her, which oddly gave her a sense of comfort. He helped her sleep faster.

The girl glanced in the direction of her closet. She could always go and take her stuffed bear and bring it with her. The lights were still on.

But then Randy would win. She had to teach Randy a lesson; that's what papa did when she misbehaved-which was not very often, she noted notably. He once took away her Sofia doll, which was a torturous time in the past that she dare not even think about. Her other dolls were lonely without the Sofia doll and it felt like twenty years instead of the two days he repossessed her.

Claire shivered at the thought and glanced at her Sofia The First doll from across the room. Her doll was across the room, lying in soldier position on the doll bed in one of the rooms of her dollhouse.

She turned her back towards the closet so she wouldn't be tempted to grab Randy and cuddle with him.

———-

The first thing Claire did when she woke up was leap of her bed and headed to her closet. She flung it open, upbraiding face already set in place, but it soon twisted into confusion at the sight in front of her.

Randy was gone. Claire crouched down and tipped her head further underneath the clothes for further inspection. Where was Randy?

"Rwandy?" she called. She furrowed her eyebrows. Slowly, she backed out of her closet and just stared at it, perplexed.

He must've escaped while she was sleeping. But that has never happened before, and wouldn't be possible anyway. He was too small to simply jump on the doorknob and twist it open. But was Randy was being awfully rebellious the other day....

Maybe her papa took him.

Claire brushed back the stray strands of hair in her face and headed over to Castiel's bedroom.

"Papa?" She asked. Castiel, who was reading, glances up from his book, and looked at his daughter from over the rim of his reading glasses. "Good morning Claire."

"G'morning. Have you seen Rwandy?"

Castiel raised an eyebrow. It was indeed, a very odd question, since Claire rarely let that bear out of her sight.

"No. Didn't you sleep with him last night?" Castiel asked.

Claire shook her head. "He needed to be punished because he did not listen to me yesterday, so I left him in the closet. But when I went to let him out, he was gone." Claire suddenly gasped as a terrifying thought entered her mind. "What if he was kidnapped?"

Castiel fought the urge to roll his eyes. "I'm certain he wasn't kidnapped." he reassured.

Claire ran over to her father's bed and tugged his arm. "We need to find him!"

Castiel placed his book on his bedside table. He lifted off his bed comforter with his unoccupied hand and stood up. Claire dragged him to her room. "Now calm down Claire, I doubt that he is very far-

"Do you think he ran away because I was too mean to him?" Claire questioned, an apprehensive tone to her voice as she thought about the possibility that her bear could have run away.

When they reached her room, Claire released Cas's hand and jumped up and down. Castiel suddenly felt something under his sock clad foot. He glanced down as Claire began to ramble again, "You can look in my room again and I'll go downstairs. Oh I do hope he's okay! What if-"

"Um Claire?" Castiel picked up the object that was underneath his foot. It was her teddy bear.

Claire gasped and grabbed her bear from Castiel, glancing up at her papa in disbelief. "How did you find him so quick?!"

Castiel pointed at the wall next to him. "He was right by the door."

Claire frowned in confusion. Why wasn't he there before? Surely she would've seen him. At her chary expression, Castiel just patted her shoulder. "I expect you were panicking so much that you didn't realize he was right there. But at least you have him now."

"But-"

"I also bet that you are hungry. How about I make breakfast for you and um Randy?"

Claire knew better than to argue with her father so she merely nodded, still staring at her bear.

When Cas left, Claire held Randy in front of her and squinted at his face. "Where were you really hiding?" she queried, skepticism distinct in her tone.

Her bear was silent, which impelled her to continue her interrogation. "I looked everywhere and I totally would have saw you laying there by the door."

Randy still kept silent. Claire rolled her eyes. "Start talking, my papa is all the way downstairs if that's what you're worried about so he can't hear you."

Almost instantaneously, Randy commenced vibrating in her hands before slipping out of them and dropping onto the ground. A couple seconds later, Randy blinked his inky button eyes and snapped his head toward Claire, widening the smile already stitched into fur.

"I was out."
