Five years ago.......Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, Castiel thought. He was pacing around the bathroom, chewing on his thumb nail with the pregnancy stick in his other hand. He couldn't tear his eyes away from the bright pink plus.
He was pregnant. No doubt with Dean's baby.
Who else could it be? They didn't break off things too long ago and Castiel hasn't been with anyone else intimately. He just wasn't ready yet, after everything he went through. There was still a lot of pain and heartbreak, plus he was still in love with Dean. He probably always would be.
This explained the constant vomitting, weird pains, and the food cravings. At least he got some closure on that.
He lifted up the hem of his white t-shirt, slowly rubbing his currently flat looking stomach. It wouldn't be flat for long, just a matter of time before he would start to show. A child? He's always thought about having children one day. Back when Dean and him first started dating, Castiel was so deep in love that he knew that Dean was the love of his life and they were destined to marry and have a future together.
Maybe this was wrong. Were these tests even reliable? He would go to his doctor and get more answers.

"Yup you're pregnant alright." Doctor Kevin Tran had told him. Castiel's eyes widened and he looked at the screen where the doctor was scanning his stomach. "I-It can't be." Castiel whispered unbelievably. He usually made sure Dean and him used protection. How could this happen?Dr. Tran nodded and looked up at Castiel. "Mr. Novak you should be proud. Taking care of a child is a good privilege."
Castiel looked down at his feet. The doctor seemed to notice his expression and continued. "There are also other...options if you truly don't want the baby." Dr. Tran said in a low voice, which caused Castiel to snap his head back up. Sure he wasn't expecting a child, but he wasn't so heartless to just get rid of him or her. "No!" Castiel yelled quickly, causing Dr. Tran to flinch. Castiel mumbled a small 'sorry'. "I'll keep it-him-her-the baby."
Dr. Tran smiled. This usually happened with patients. They would rather keep their child than set it up for abortion. Most of the time they never regretted their choice and were later proud after the baby was born. This man would surely feel the same way.
"Well it's too early to figure out its gender but after the baby has developed a little more I can reveal the gender. Unless you enjoy the element of surprise like most soon-to-be parents?" Dr. Tran asked. Castiel wasn't the type for surprises, and he most definitely wasn't like most parents. "I'd like to know his or hers gender so I can prepare."
Dr. Tran told him when his next appointment was and some pregnancy tips. Castiel thanked him and left the doctors building unsure and guilty.
The first person he told about his pregnancy was Gabriel, the only family he was really close to. His brother Lucifer was sort of a well-known criminal these days, so no one knew what he was ever up to, Michael had gone away to some other country and only his parents kept in contact with him, and his parents had shut him out after he came out as gay years ago so they were out of the picture. Anna and Gabriel were the only ones he was close to, so Anna's death had hit him hard. Anyways, Gabriel was excited when he told him about the pregnancy.
"Cassie that's great! How does Dean feel about it?" Gabriel said poking his stomach with a grin. Castiel wouldn't meet his brothers eyes and remained silent. Gabriel's smile dimmed and turned into a frown. "He doesn't know does he." He stated than questioned. Castiel nodded. Dean didn't need to be in his life anymore. He was probably with some stripper at a bar sweet-talking his way into her pants. The thought made Castiel's chest tighten.
