I went up Izuku as he was waiting for me to walk home together. "Hey, my parebts got arrested again," I told him nonchalantly, "So can you tell you're mom I'm coming over for dinner?"
"Yeah," he said, "But didn't they just break out?" He questioned. I nodded, disapointed. It seemed we had the conversation every week. We continued on our way, hair foot steps and the click on my crutches were the only sound. "What's got you down?" I asked him, knowing he would usually be talking if something wasn't wrong. He didn't answer.
"Is it Bakugo again?" I asked. Us three used to be irresponsible. The three amigos. Then those two grew apart, and I stuck more with Izuku, but I still got along with Bakugo. I was sorta a midpoint between the two. "I can talk to him if you want me to, or beat him up."
"Jikan," he turned to face me, "Do you think I'm able to be a hero?" He asked. I don't know why I didn't notice the burnt notebook in his hands. His hero study note book. I sighed, knowing what happened.
"You don't need a quirk to be a hero," I told him with an encouraging smile. "I'm going to becone one without the use of mine, and you're going to become one without one. And we'll become the besr heroes there ever will be." My motivational speech didn't seem to help. I got into a similar mood as my friend as we walked under the tunnel.
I stopped when I noticed the green liquid flowing out of the sewer. I reached out and grabbed Izuku by the back of his shirt, stopping him from walking. The green liquid formed into a human like mass. "You'll work well to help me get out of this city," he commented over the terrified Izuku. He must not have noticed me behind him. I could only watch in horror as my friend was engulfed by this... thing, struggling for his life. I just stood there incapable of doing anything. My quirk could help, but I don't ever want to use it.
I still needed to do something. I couldn't lose my friend, and I'm sure the thing would kill me next. I reached out to one of Izuku's flailing arms and grabbed it. I tries pulling him out, but his arm only slipped out of my grass and I fell to the ground, my crutched clattering down next to me. Just as I was sure I lost my best friend someone unexpected burst through the sewer.
All Might. With one single attack he beat that liquid, saving my friend. If I wasn't already on the ground I would have calasped down to it. "Thank you," I cried, bowing down, "Thank you for saving him."
"Please young lady, its just in a day's work," he smiled down to me, and helped me up onto my crutches.
A went over and collected everything Izuku dropped, as the hero checked on my friend. I picked up his note book and an idea came to my mind. "Can you sign this for him, he's a huge fan," I asked timidly.
"Of course!" He decorated and quickly signed across two pages. I watched his smile. Not once has it ever faltered. Who could be that happy all the time? It had to be a fake smile. Those you can keep for a lifetime.
Izuku finally woke up, and started freaking out. I smirked at how happy he was, that would get him out of that funk. But when All Might left, of course Izuku wasn't done with the time he got. He just needed to latch on to the hero's leg. I screamed when he did this. I didn't know what to do. I finally decided to go in the direction my friend had been carried.
Finding that guy was never easy. Once an attack started happening I knew it was a good bet to find him there. I searched the crowd for his messy hair. I couldn't locate it. I turned around, frantic to find my friend. I saw him approaching from across the street. "Deku!" I yelled his nickname. "What the hell possessed you to do that!" He was coming across the street as I was yelling. "You could have gotten hurt, or even killed!"
"No now Jika," he sighed. He kept his attention towards the fight, while I continued to scold him. He was obviously tooning me oyt so i started saying gibberish. Suddenly he started running, right into the chaos.
"Deku!" I yelled after him. I then saw what was in the sludge monster, or more so who, Bakugo. Izuku threw his back pack at the monster and grabbed at our friend. I needed to help. I mustered all my power and froze time. I abandoned my crutches and rushed through the flames, feeling nothing. I grabbed both my friends and ran to the other sid eof the way unfreezing time as I clasped onto the ground, not able to support myself any longer. "You're idiots," I told them through the pain.
They both looked at me in shock. It had been years sonce I used my quirk to their knowledge, they must have forgotten I even had one, which to everyone else's knowledge, that was so. "I had it under control," Bakugo tisked and walked away. While Izuku was frantically trying to find my crutches through the chaos of All Might taking care of the sludge.
"They're over by the crowd," I informed hi, but realized I lost his help to watch All Might in action. In all honesty it was easy to get mesmerized by that. Once all was settled one of the other heroes brought me my crutches, and Izuku and I got scoldings. Honestly I don't get why. Without us Bakugo would be dead. Yet he was over there getting praised for almost dying. These people just wanted to twist the story to suit the strong. Izuku and I weren't that, we were weak. But we were willing to change that.
