I was alone. Well not really. I was surrounded by other testers, but no one I knew. I was dreading it since the moment I learned I was single different testing groups from them. I was in three with Baku was in one, and Deku was in two. I also needed to limit my quirk use cause with how much I used it before could lead to memory loss. I was trying to think of a game plan, but my anxiety was preventing me from being able to do so.
I could feel the other students look at me. It was because of my braces. It was because I was in leg braces. It was because I was weak. At least that was the way I looked. I was strong and deserved to be there. I wasn't in any danger. Just cause my legs didn't work well on their own, doesn't mean I'm not strong.
But at that moment I was shaving a slight panic attack. I hadn't had one of those since the first year of middle school. I was trying to get myself through it by focusing on my breathing. I was sweating a lot, felt like I wasn't taking in any air, and had a slight shake. I've had worse, but it still would get in my way of taking down robots.
The gates opened and everyone rushed through. I made my way in after all of them. Taking down robots couldn't be the only part of the test. It was too simple for getting into the top hero school. They had to be watching us and see how we act in this. It's sorta like a hero simulation. I should help who I can, and take down a few robots on my own.
First I needed to figure out how I can destroy these things. My plan was to freeze time and remove a vital part so it would become unfunctional, and not need to waste my energy by destroying the entire thing. I needed to figure out what I would need to remove. I found my way to where all the main action was. I only had like fifteen minutes to the end of the test. I ran my way up to a robot before falling and acting like I couldn't move. "Help!" I cried out with fake tears in my eyes.
Some guy with red hair came and punched the robot away. It hit the building and crumbled into pieces. I froze time and went to inspect the pieces as they were still sorta in their places. I found a piston that was easy to get to that would render the robot motionless. I unfriendly time as I stood in the middle of the debre. "Thanks!" I yelled over to the guy.
I then froze time again and went to every robot in the area, even the ones others were fighting. I went around and removed the piston, making a small pile on the side of the rode. After all were taken care of I unfroze time. All the ones fighting robots I took care of were confused about the robot was broken. I didn't bother informing them I took car eof them. With all the pistons near my feet it was obvious I got them to the test takers. I did some short math and figured out I had twenty six points.
I was about to go and find some more robots when a shadow passed over head. Somehow a robot was flying over head. It was headed right to were another test taker was. I ran over, and pushed them out of the way as the robot came crashing down. I fell to the ground, and found my leg had gotten stuck under the robot, just slightly. "Fuck," I commented. Somehow my brace had stoped it from crushing my leg entirely, but I didn't know how to remove my leg from beneath it.
I looked to try and find the person I saved, wanting some help, to find they just ditched me. I could use my quirk to get out, but that would be a waste. I started inspecting it, to find if I remove my leg from my brace I could get it out. Once I did there was no way to get my brace out. I still needed more points, I needed to get in. I couldn't waste any more time. "Guess I'm doing this one legged," I groaned and started hopping around on one foot. It wasn't an efficient way to move around.
"Do you want some help?" a guy came across me and offered me some help. He had messy blue hair and hallow eyes. He looked a bit suspicious, but I couldn't judge I had a scary look to myself, with bags under my eyes, and eyes that seem like they are never focused.
" If you're willing to give it," I shrugged, "Don't want to mess with your points or anything." I leaned on a wall trying to regain my balance. I should have done one legged things, why didn't I think about the possibility earlier.
He came over and wrapped and arm around my waist and I put one around his shoulder. "I can't get any points," he informed me, "My quirk isn't suitable for combat..."
"Oh," I awkwardly said, "I'm Amane Jikan, and thanks for helping me." He snorted at my name. It really was like a joke.
"I'm Shinso Hitoshi," he said through a smile. "and, you're welcome."
"Oh, and if I'm right, which may not be likely," I sighed, "That they also take into account our actions during the test like saving people or not." It felt awkward with a stranger helping me walk. I was trying to fill in the awkward void. There was about five minutes left of the test when there was this loud rumble from further down the street where the main action had been relocated after my shinanigans. The end we were at was blocked by a pile of destroyed robots while down at the other was a giant zero-pointer. There was no where for the students to run.
I froze time out of frantic thinking. I was bale to put weight on my braceless leg. I used the messed up physics to move robots to clear away for people to run. It used up a lot of my energy. Once there was a clear path. I started time again and clasped in a tired heap. "What?" Shinso questioned, as I was ten meters away from him and destroyed robots moved in less than a second. Before the zero-pointer made it's way to the end of the rode the test ended, and I went hunting for my brace.
