"I'm what?" I asked astonished.

"A zavener, they're like seekers but without the uncontrollable killing and dark magic stuff." Luke chuckled.

"But, how?"

"Maybe it's in your bloodline, or someone transferred their powers to you and you just don't remember it." he shrugged.

"You're not going to hurt me are you?" I asked.

Luke shook his head,"I don't want to be a seeker, never did, but my Dad wanted me to be like him."

"Wow," I breathed.

"Yeah, have you ever tried to levitate something?" he asked.

"No," I replied. Luke laughed and reached over to his desk and grabbed a plain white mug. "Try this."

I looked at him in astonishment, "Me? Levitate this? Please tell me you're joking." I begged.

"Nope. Just hold out your hand like this," he said while lifting my arm so my palm was facing the mug which he held in his other hand. "Close your eyes." he demanded. I reluctantly obeyed and shut my eyelids. Luke's voice rang through my ears once more, "Picture what you want it to do. Use your hand to guide it."

I did as I was told and focused my mind on lifting the mug. With my eyes still shut, I lifted my hand. An unfamiliar warmth spread throughout my hand before I opened my eyes to reveal the mug floating about six inches above it's previous spot on Luke's hand.

"Oh my God!" I gasped, instantly pulling my hand back. The porcelain cup dropped and landed gracefully in Luke's palm before it had the chance to drop to the floor.

"Not too bad, Mitchell." Luke smiled while rolling the mug between his two hands.

I never noticed how attractive Luke was until now. The way his blue eyes shimmered with excitement with a little bit of sadness behind them, when he smiled it seemed to make the room shine brighter. The way he would bite his lip or fiddle with his piercing with his teeth when he was nervous or concentrating on something.

"Take a picture, It'll last longer," Luke smirked. I rolled my eyes and I suddenly remembered the reality of what was outside Luke's bedroom.

"What happens now?" I asked. "I can't avoid Nathan and Garrett for the rest of my life. I have to actually go to school."

"You can still go. I'll be there to watch over you so they can't hurt you."

"And you say you're not a stalker." I scoffed.

"I'm not! If anything, I'm a guardian angel." He said while crossing his arms over his chest.

"Whatever, Ghost boy. What other things can you teach me with my powers?"

"I think you've learned enough for now. You've had a long day, I should get you home." Luke said.

"Can I teleport there?" I asked excitedly.

Luke chuckled,"You really are excited about this, huh?" I nodded my head. "Alright, just close your eyes again," he sighed. I obeyed and shut my eyes. "Picture in your mind where you want to go. Be specific though, You don't want to end up across the galaxy." He laughed.

I thought of home, sitting on my fluffy white comforter with my turquoise walls and my piano beside my bed. A loud ringing flooded my ears making me wince at the sudden noise, but it soon faded.

I opened my eyes to see the familiar color of my walls and the comforting smell of vanilla and coconut. I changed into some leggings and a baggy sweatshirt before making my way to the small bathroom my mother and I shared in our apartment. I quickly brushed my teeth and threw my hair into a ponytail; I silently walked into my mothers room and crept towards her bed. I let out a sigh as I saw the broken woman before me. Her breathing was unsteady and she clutched the same picture of my father to her chest with all of her strength as she's done every night for the past six years. I felt a tear roll down my cheek before loosening her grasp on the fragile photo and placing it on her bedside table. I kissed the top of her forehead before leaving her to sleep.

I returned to my room and turned the lights off other than the Christmas lights that hung from the ceiling of each wall. I set my alarm and climbed into bed, the blankets engulfing me in warmth. I closed my eyes and thought about Luke and I wondered if he still remained in his bedroom. I remembered the day he communicated with me once without actually being present. I pondered on trying it for a couple minutes before I decided it couldn't hurt.

"Goodnight Luke," I whispered. I didn't hear a response for a moment so I told myself it didn't work. I turned on my side, my eyelids getting heavier by the second. I finally closed my eyes and felt myself slowly falling asleep, but before I slipped into unconsciousness a small smile formed on my face as I could make out the faint whisper of Luke's voice in my head.

Sweet dreams, Riley.

It's short but it's a filler, I might update later tonight but I make no promises. Love you guys xx don't forget to vote and comment
