I walked into my new school, the stench of sweat, perfume, and cheap cologne filled my nostrils. My vans slapped against the tile floor as I walked down the crowded hallway. I looked down at my schedule and made my way to my locker, by my third failed attempt to unlock it, a boy with jet black hair and a tan completion walked up to the locker beside mine. He was wearing a grey button up shirt with black skinny jeans and black vans, he obviously hated the collar on the shirt because he was constantly pulling it away from his neck.

"Ugh stupid piece of crap," I sighed while banging my fist against the metal door.

"No need to hate on the poor thing," the boy laughed. "You must be new."

I nodded in response. "Here, what's your combination?" he asked while shifting over to my locker. After giving him the correct numbers, he smashed his fist on the side and it he opened it with ease.

"Thanks," I mumbled while fastening my dark blue backpack on my shoulder.

"No problem, I'm Calum Hood by the way," he said while holding out his hand. "Riley Mitchell," I said shaking his hand. "Welcome to Katport High School," he said motioning around him.

"Do you think you can help me out here? I don't know where anything is." He nodded, "Sure, let me see your schedule."

I handed him the folded up paper and stood there while he skimmed his eyes over it. "Well you're in luck, we have all the same classes except for biology, gym, and... Calculus? Damn Riley you must be smart." he laughed while handing my schedule back to me. "It's not all that surprising, isn't it normal for seniors to take Calculus?" I asked. He just shrugged and picked up his black backpack off the floor, slinging it over his shoulder.

"Let me show you around the school," he said. We walked down the hallways of Katport until I fully could navigate myself from class to the bathroom to the cafeteria and the gym.

"Who is that?" I asked as a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes walked down the hallway. He had a piercing in his bottom lip and he wore a plain black t-shirt, black skinny jeans and of course, black vans. We made eye contact just when Calum responded, "Who?" I broke my gaze from the blue-eyed boy and turned my head towards Calum. "The kid right ther-" I stopped mid sentence when I realized that it was just Calum and I standing in the hallway. "N-Nevermind." I stuttered.

"Okay well you have Calculus so I won't be with you. Do you think you can handle things without me?" Calum teased. "Don't flatter yourself," I laughed. "Well I have to head to gym so I'll see you in Homeroom." he said while walking away. "Bye," I waved.

After Calum was out of sight, I turned the corner to get to Calculus when I ran into something- or someone. I looked up to be met with a pair of icy blue eyes. The blonde haired boy smirked.

"Hello Riley."
