The Enhanced Trooper

Chapter XVI

AFTER A COUPLE minutes I come back to my senses. I sit down on the couch as I take in deep breaths. It's fine this is regular. You are going to have to to get used to this. Beside you were bred to kill this won't bother you much anymore. I think to me self.
    I close my eyes and take a deep breath in. When I open them my eyes lock on the huge sliver case. I move to the floor and sit cross legged. I flicking the latches I slowly lift the lid.
     The First think I spot is a note. I take it out. It reads;
Dear SN2198,
In this case you will notice black clothing.
    I look in the case and laying on top is a black turtle neck shirt and some back stretchy pants.
These are your undergarments or your second layer.
     I put those aside when suddenly I am hit with a bright color.
Under your under garments you will find your armor. Specially fitted for you.
    I stare at the armor in front of me. It is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I slowly put out a tentative hand as I touch the glossy surface. The only way I can describe it is red. The deepest and richest red you have ever seen. As crimson as the blood that I drew from LN's neck. Taking out the chest pate I begin to read again.
Now I know your first thoughts are this is not very camouflaged but we know it won't be a problem for you. Besides if your enhancement pairs with you then they will be no need for hiding.
    This armor is very special. It once belonged to an old... "friend". His name was the Cardinal. He was the most fierce and most loyal trooper of us all.  Until a fatal accident happened. Now I want you to inherit this armor because I see no one better for for it. Serve his image well.
   Lastly you will notice the disk. Make sure no one is on the same room as you. This is top secret and only few are allowed to know this information. I am trusting you to not show anyone.
      Your captain Phasma.

I stare at the glossy red as my face reflect back into it. A million thoughts run through my head who is the cardinal? Why would Phasma want me if all people to have it?
I am broken from my thoughts when I hear a knock on one of the doors. "Come in!" I yell as I begin to pack up my stuff closing the lid.
   I turn to see who was walking in when I see Leo.
   "Nice of you to join me." I say to him.
   "I heard a lot of grunt and hitting walls. Was everything okay?"
   "Nothing I couldn't take care of." I pick up the case i begin to drag it across the floor to my room. Leo follows.
    "So what's in the case?" Leo questions.
   I grunt as I heave the case one last pull and press the button to my bedroom door. It slides open. And I walk in. "Oh just my armor and an informational disk," Leo steps through my door but I hold out a my hand stopping him from entering , "nope sorry you can't come in. No boys allowed. Captain's orders." I stare at Leo  complete seriousness but slowly a grin spreads across my face as I turn around waving him in.
    "You know sometimes I can never tell if you are joking or if you are serious."
    "Sorry that is just one of the many traits I was born with." I stop the case at the edge of my bed. Then grasping the sides I look over my shoulder And shout. "You know it would be nice if you would help."
   "Oh yeah sorry." He runs over picking up the other side. We say 1...2..3. And lug the case on top of my bed. Opening it up I place the under clothes and the armor out on my bed.
    "Wow. That is so pretty cool armor."
  I can't tell if he is being sarcastic or not. "Do you like it?" I stare at him for a response.
"Well lets just say you are going to make a statement. But yes I do like it."
   "Good. I guess some guy named the Cardinal used to wear it? Something weird like that."
Leo just shrugs as I search the bottom for the disk. There is nothing in the bottom but I spot a round button. I press it and then a side compartment pops out. With in is the disk. I quickly snatch it and run over to the other side of my bed and sit down.
     Leo sits next to me. I am about to press the button but then I remember Phasma's warning. "Sorry Leo you can't watch this with me. Top secret."
    He looks at me with puppy eyes. "Aww come one Sal. It's just information on on the mission. I mean who would I tell. Beside I am with the First Order. Not the Resistance."
   I look at him strangely. "How did you know this was information about my next mission?"
   He looks calm but I swear I could have seen fear flash across his eyes. "I read the note."
   "Okay but I still can't let you see the disk."
   "Pleeeeeeassseee." He whines.
   I look at him I mean what harm would it cause? I think. Besides I would trust him with my life.
  "Fine but just this once and you cant tell Phasma."
    "No mam." He gives me a mock salute as I let a little laugh out.
    Pressing the button we watch as a little holographic Phasma spring up.
    "Hello SN2198....

Hey so about the whole red armor thing. Don't get mad at me saying this is not accurate because actually it is. I recommend the new book written about Phasma or just search up "Cardinal Star Wars" if you want to know more about where the armor is from. But I will be explaining more later on. I have a cool idea with this so I hope you like it!
