The Enhanced Trooper

Chapter XXXV

YAVIN 4 IS ALOT different then I thought it would be. Sure I heard that it is a jungle planet that there are huge rivers that drop forming massive water falls. That it is one of many moons that orbit Yavin the planet. But when we jump out of hyper drive I am shocked.
Probably the biggest reddish yellow planet lies in front of us. I feel my mouth drop open.
"That is the biggest mom I have ever heard." I am awe struck when I heard Leo break out in laughter. I turn to see him laughing his mouth off. I notice tears start to form in his eyes. He grasps him stomach in pain of the laughter. I am confused but then my confusion starts to turn to annoyance. Why is he laughing at me?
His laughter quiets as he wipes the tears from his eyes. "Wait so let me clarify something. You think that huge red planet is a moon?"
I cross my arms. "Yeah isn't it?"
Another burst of laughter escapes his mouth. I throw my hands up in surrender as I huff and stone out of the room.
"Sal wait! I was just kidding. I am sorry come back in!" I heard Leo shout at me and I am almost tempted to not listen but I am curious as to why he is laughing.
"What do you want?"
"Sal I am sorry I forgot that you haven't been out much. It's just that that huge mass is actually a planet. It's not the moon. The moon the Resistance base is on is over to the left."
I move my eyes toward the left of the window when I spot a tiny green speck. My face falls with disappointment.
"Oh... that's a cool moon. I guess."
"Don't act to sad just yet. This will probably be one of the most beautiful places you will see. You know the first thing We do when we get there. Well actually I will introduce you first but then we will go see a lake."
   My eyes go wide as I try to picture what a lake would look like in real life. "Really! That would so cool we can go meet your friends and..." suddenly my brain reminds me that I won't be able to do any of that stuff. That when I get to the base everything will be blown up to dust. Every where I go I create destruction.
   Leo must have seen the change in mood as he tries to comfort me.
   "Hey don't worry. I understand if you have doubts but I know your life will be better there. With me."
    I smile at him trying to make it genuine.
   I look out the window as Leo takes the controls. We are closer to the moon now as I press my face to the window trying to take in everything. I hear Leo chuckle a little at my childish behaviors but I don't pay attention.
   The moon is green and as we get closer more and more details come into view. Different color green start to show. And swirls of clouds decorate the moon. We. Breach the atmosphere as I gasp.
   "It's so..." I try to think of how to describe it but no words can explain.
   "I know it is."
We cut through the cloud cover and I instantly wish that there wasn't a window blocking me from the moon.
   Green litters the planet. We pass by trees of all shape and color. My breath it taken away. I can't process it. I have never seen something like this before.
   "I never knew there could be so much green in the whole galaxy."!I whisper this not knowing that Leo was listening. He looks at me with pity. Wishing he could show me so much more. Green is not the only color nature made.
   I stare at the greenery not wanting it to go away. However the canopy breaks as I spot something that I can't comprehend. I stare at a lone line stretching father then I can see. It is huge and wide and seems to be filled with water.
    Suddenly it clicks in my mind. This must be what a river looks like. The water is a aqua blue as the currents are fast. Deadly but beautiful.
    I feel our momentum slow down. I sit down in the chair and buckle up getting ready for our arrival.
    I am to scared to look outside as I keep touching my ear making sure the teacher is still there.
    I close my eyes as I grip the arm rest. The shuttle stops moving. I take a deep breath in. Nerves rack through my body. I can't process anything. I feel a hand place over mine as I crack open my eye a little bit.
    "Hey Sal. It's fine. We are here." I open my eyes as I take another deep breath. I shake my head to acknowledge him. I stand up avoiding the window not wanting to see anything. I reach down and grab my helmet as I begin to put it on.
   "Ah Sal I know that you are not used to people but I am pretty sure they would feel a lot better if you didn't where that helmet."
  I stare at my helmet. It means so much to me I couldn't. "Okay." I place my helmet on the chair as I stare at it longingly.
  "And the blaster." I sigh as I pull the strap of the huge blaster over my head and place it near my helmet.
    "All the blasters."
"You can't expect me into walk into a base unarmed. Whee I go so do these blasters and swords." I am stubborn knowing I don't want to be in a battle without a weapon.
   "Fine." He gives up and he holds his hands up in surrender. "You win."
   I smile as I drape my cape over my shoulder. I walk next to Leo as he presses the button.
    I go numb. I can't feel anything. My enhancement starts to kick in as it grips my brain. It knows that this mission is to important for my human half to mess up. It allows me to move but all of my actions are purely the enhancement.
    The ramp opens slowly. I am met with a blinding white light. I squint as I shield my eyes trying to see what is beyond the ship. I hear foot steps clanking down the ramp so I follow after. When I feel my feet hit dirt I stop as I blink a couple times.
   The my vision goes from white light to hundreds of Resistance member's blasters drawn and pointing at me.
   "Wow what a nice welcoming committee you have there."
