The Enhanced Trooper

Chalter LVII

IT STANDS THERE shocked and a little hurt. Confused by why he needs to prove himself so much. It hears a thud and then screaming. I can't make out what they say but I know it is Kylo's voice. Suddenly blue lights up the forest as a buzzing clashing of light sabers ring through the trees. The mixing of the red and blue sabers creates a purple hue. It slowly creeps forward to watch the battle and jump in when the time is right. Taking off my helmet and lying it on the floor it crouches low shuffling forward.
Abruptly a scream rings through the air. It is right in front of me. I watch as Kylo rakes his saber across the Ex- Troopers back. His eyes roll back into his head as he falls forward. Snow waking on his impact hitting me as I back away trying to hide.
I observe from the side line as Kylo thrusts out his hand trying to use the Force to grab the blue light saber that is stuck in the snow.
The saber comes loose however instead of going to Kylo it smacks into Rey's hand.
Wait she has the Force?! That explains why I felt that weird pull when I first saw her.
It suddenly lunges forward but a tree root grabs on to my foot and causes me to fall. I look around to see if any one saw my embarrassing   moment. Luckily no one did.
    Looking up from the ground my eyes travel to Rey. She now stands with the saber. I feel the tension in the air. It is so strong that is makes me hiss with distaste.
   Suddenly there is a whoosh and Rey's saber ignites casting a blue light on her face.  She looks strong staring at Kylo defiantly. He responds by igniting his own saber and adding a twirl for effect.
     The silent stand off only last a second as they engaged in battle. The hiss and hum of sabers fill my ears as I lay there in the snow too captivated by the grace of Kylo's movements to move. It is obvious from the beginning who is winning.
   Kylo's strong swift movements out play Rey untrained jabbing tactic. Kylo mostly goes on offense as he beats his saber on hers.  Rey barely blocks his stabs. Whenever Kylo gives her a chance she tries to thrust her saber at Kylo but he easily defects it.
  Rey swings her saber but Kylo ducks. However her saber ends up slicing a tree. It begins to fall as it looks up in horror. The tree is falling right where I lay. Quickly it rolls away as the tree crashes down spraying snow everywhere. It doesn't get a chance to process anything as Kylo's saber makes contact with another tree. And just my luck the tree falls exactly where I am.
It tries to roll away again but that move can only work once. Just as I become out of harms way. The tree crashes down catching my leg.
   The trunk smashes against my leg as it pinned me down. It screams in pain trying to look over my shoulder to see the damage. I lay on my stomach and try to wiggle my leg but it only causes pain to shoot through my body.
It looks up and spots Kylo and Rey engaging in the battle still. A deep rumbling sounds through the trees. A vibration shakes the ground as a gaping whole begins to form behind Rey.
It totally forgets that there is a huge tree on my leg as it becomes absorbed in the battle.
   Kylo and Rey are locked in a stand off. Both sabers are crossed. Kylo pushes Rey backwards as she stands on the edge of the gap. She begins to lean backwards a little. Kylo's face is thick with sweat as his hair is pinned to his face. He grits his teeth.
    Though I am far away I can still make out their conversation.
"You need a teacher! To show you the ways of the Force." Kylo's says clearly struggling with the stand off.
    I watch as Rey closes her eyes. Though I don't contain the Force I can feel a strong pull begin to orbit her. She draws in power and captures it. I have never felt so much power before. Suddenly she opens her eyes.
     The tides have turned. Something has changed with the wimpy scavenger.  She strikes Kylo with precision. He then begins to struggle with blocking her advances. Shocked by her change he doesn't expect her to fight back.
   With one swift swipe Rey slashes Kylo's leg cutting abric off his tunic. He stumbles backward still fighting. He lets his guard down for a second and she jabs him in the shoulder. From then it is almost slow motion. I see it playing before my eyes before it happens.
It grabs my pinned leg and begins to pull it but it won't budge. Desperately needing to move. Looking towards Kylo and Rey once more I watch terrified and scared as Kylo's saber begins to be pushed to the ground suddenly Rey pushes away and brings her saber up.
   The blue weapon slices through Kylos shoulder and run up through his face. He falls to the ground defeated.
It then begins to scream with pure rage. Not only is Rey a rebel but she is about to kill Kylo. And that is something not even the Enhancement would allow.
   Tugging harder it tries to escape. It needs to protect Kylo and save him.
   I watch as Rey hesitated not sure if she should finish him or not. But the ground makes up her mind for her.
    With a quick rumble the rock between the two Force users splits apart.
    Kylo is saved. Rey stands in the other side of the cavern as Kylo's hot breaths show through the frigid air. They stand there staring at each other.  Then Rey turns and begins to run away.
     Something over comes me. Hatred. Irritation. Frustration and most importantly revenge begins to boil within my stomach.
   With one last scream that sounds as if the end of the world was happening. It rapidly grabs the trunk throwing it off my leg. Though my leg looks a little flatten.
   The image of Rey getting away causes it to ignore my human pain and stand up. My scream attracted the attention of Kylo.
   "Sal?" He yells.  It makes eye contact with him and begins to run towards him. He look relieved and happy but then his expression changes.
   He reads my thoughts, feels my intentions. "No dont, Sal!"
   It is to late. In one swift motion it passes Kylo at full motion picking up his light saber  that was casted  aside.
    "What are you doing. You are going to kill yourself!"
   Without looking back it whispers. "I am already dead."
    Using all the strength the Enhancement has  It propels my body over the gapping  gap.
    I barely land on the other side. My bad leg screams in pain but it ignores it scanning the forest for the girl.
    Suddenly it spots her. Igniting the saber it casts a red glow on the ground a I sprint towards her. She is knelt on the ground Next to the Ex-Trooper.
   She senses me and just as I a upon her she whips out her saber blocking mine as it comes down on her.
   She pushes me away as I step back getting my feet right. She rises and asks, "Who are you?"
   "You are an enemy to the First Order therefore you are an enemy to me." It lunges forward with so much Force that when our sabers clash Rey is thrown backwards. She stumbles as I meet her with the saber once again.
   She is lucky and ducks as the saber barely misses her. We engage  in a fight as I swing the saber with grace and strength. Power courses through my veins and a strength unlike I have ever felt fuels my movements. The Enhancement pours in everything. It is to much for me to handle as I begin to black out but there is no need for my vision because the Enhancement moves my body on its own.
    I use the terrain around me to my advantage as I use a tree to push off of and jump higher. Leaping over Rey I thrust saber making contact with her shoulder. She whips around swings at me. I slide on my knees bending backwards as the saber barely misses me. Popping back up on the other side of her. I swing my foot and sweep her feet from under her. Quickly getting on top of her I hold the saber to her throat. She takes in short breaths. Sweat and blood trickles own her brow. "Go on with it." She daringly says.
It hesitated for a split second but Rey uses it to her advantage. She thrusts her hand out and I am sent flying backwards. My back hits a tree but I land on my feet. I crack my head as she stares at me with horror. The impact of the tree should have knocked me out but it doesn't. "What are you."
   "I am an Enhanced Trooper and about to be the last thing you see." With a smirk it charges forward. Rey braces her self expecting me to swing at her but instead I launch forward and somersault over her head.
   Though she doesn't expect my move she swings her saber upward catching my hand. I drop to the floor and Rey quickly straddles me. Without thinking it throws my legs up rapping them around Rays waist. Locking them together I use my arms to push up and flip Rey to the ground. We switch positions as I bend close to her holding the saber once more to her chest.
   I hiss through my teeth. "You were tough but you will never win. You could have been great but you chose the wrong side." I grip the hilt more as I am about to slit her throat.
   "Sal! Wait!" Usually it wouldn't respond to my name but I Force it to look up. Kylo stands leaning against a tree reaching towards me. Confusion washes my face.
    I stare at him then suddenly my eyes go wide. I don't feel it but I sense it Rey's hand press against my armor as the end of her sabers hilt touches my armor. The other end plunges through my chest and out the other way.
    My head turns to Rey. I stare into her eyes. She looks sad but the jerks her light saber out of my chest. She then throws me off her. I roll on my back as she hovers over me.
   "What have I done?" She wildly exclaims. She tries to plug the whole where her saber punctured my body but it is no use.
    I hear Kylo yell from somewhere but my eyes travel to the sky.
    It is almost as if a weight lifts off my shoulders. One second I trapped in a cage and the next the cage door swings open and I am let out. Freedom.
    I don't know how I know but some how I feel it leave me. The heavy sense of a burden disappears without a word. Just a small tug and gone. I am finally free from the Enhancements cold grasps.
   I tell my fingers to grip the snow as a cold feeling tingles through my fingers. I then begin to laugh with happiness and look towards Rey. "Thank you. Thank you I am finally free." I am in the verge of tears and I feel Rey is to.
   Something rushed towards us as I watch Rey look up. She then quickly gets up casting a glance at me then runs back into the forest.
    My head rolls to the side as Kylo comes and slides into my side. He scoops me up and holds me tightly to his chest. I breath in his sent as I smile into his chest. "Kylo." I softly say.
  He lets me see his face as a single tear runs down his chest. "Sal. Oh Sal it's really you."
   A small smile spreads across my face. His eyes glisten with worry as he frantically scans his eyes across my face. "You look so hansom." I find myself saying.
   He presses a finger to my wound. "I hardly think that is appropriate for you to say in a situation like this."
   "What do you mean. You will save me Kylo. You always have."
  He looks at me defeated. "Sal, I... I can't." I take in breaths though it pains me every time my lungs move.
   "Will I die here?" I find my self saying. A whimper  of pain and sadness escapes my mouth. Kylo doesn't respond he just looks at me biting his lip and holding back the tears. I then smile trying to lighten up the mood. "Well then We don't have much time. Do we?"
  Kylo's fingers lace through my hair.
"We have all the time in the world. Don't worry." He quietly says stroking my face.
   "I hope we do in some place beyond because we didn't nearly have enough time here in this life."
    "Well we were distracted." I let out a small laugh but look at Kylo seriously. It gets harder to breath and speak but I know I must continue.
  "We fought Kylo we were fighters and I am proud to be apart of our cause."
   "Sal please..."
"No promise me this. You will continue to fight. Kylo fight for The First Order. Fight for what you believe in. Fight For for me. Promise me that."
   He shakes his head. "I will Sal I will."
   His hands become shaky as a suddenly pain shoots through me. I close my eyes an cramp up whimpering. "Kiss me." I quietly say. I know my time is close and I want to feel the Love I felt so long ago. I wanted to feel loved 
  He leans down a lightly brushing  a kiss on my lips. Though it was short it was the truest kiss I have ever experienced. Our lips sparked as it made the corners of my mouth to curl up wards. I close my eyes as I break the one promise I had kept from the beginning. A tear slides down my face and I smile knowing I can finally let go. Kylo takes his thumb and rubs the tear way from my face.
   I lean my head back. "Thank you Kylo. For making me feel loved."
   "No Sal not now. You can't go now please! I can't fight without you!"
   "You must go on. I am just a Storm Trooper remember that. I was meant to die for you and so now I will. But I will let you know that the life you gave me was worth dying for. You are worth dying for. I love you."
  I hear a loud bang and the sound of a near by ship. The hum of the engine drowns out my voice and also Kylo's as wind whips at our faces. However a voice rings through my head.
I will love you always.

So I am guessing by now you guys are thinking that the story is over. Well in my original plan I had thought to write past this part. And show Sal's experience without the enhancement but this chapter was such an Impactful ending that I didn't think I would be able to top it. So I decided that I would ask you guys.
So please comment if you think I should continue the story and explain some more details about Sal's past and how she deals with beginning normal. Or just stop the story here. I would REALLY appreciate if you would comment. Thanks!
