I sigh as I get to the door, books and all in hand and in my backpack. I had refused to have Luke take me home. I already don't trust him, and I certainly won't trust him with a car.
And now I stand in front of his house. It's a nice house. Doesn't look too big, but not too small either. It is nicely kept, and there is a mini garden in the front, as well as some trees and other plants.
I can hear instruments being played inside. I don't know if that's my cue to run away or go inside.
Come on, Olivia. Man up. If you get this done, it will be done. No more having to deal with Luke.
With the confidence of that thought, I go up to the door and knock carefully on it. There's an eruption of 'hey's the second I make a noise. Oh God...
"Don't worry mum, I got it!" I hear Luke call. Before I can even groan, the door flies open to reveal a very sweaty Luke. His smile is more like a grin that spreads from ear to ear. He seems.. Not mockingly happy, but happy. It's odd.
"Heya, Livi! You're just in time! We're just about to start!" He smiles. My jaw drops slightly. "You told me to come over at four because you'd be done!" I whine. His eyebrows flick down in a frown for a moment.
"What? No! I said, come over at four, unless you want to come over when we're done!" He laughs. My eyes widen. "That is not what you told me!" I say. That little..
He laughs again. "Okay, whatever, you're here now so there's no turning back," he says, sounding awfully sure of himself. I spin on my heels and walk away from the door.
"Wha- No, wait, Olivia," Luke sputters, not expecting that at all. He grabs my arm and pulls me with all of his might back inside. He quickly shuts the door behind me. I blink.
"Now come on. You have to meet my mum," he says obnoxiously. I groan softly.
"Are you being annoying on purpose?" I sigh. He chuckles and continues to pull me around. "Of course," he replies.
He pulls me into the kitchen, and right up to a blonde woman that has to be his mother.
"Mum, this is Olivia," Luke says. She doesn't look up from her work right away. It takes a moment, so Luke whines. She finally looks up.
"Lucas, I am working, I can look when I'm at a proper stopping point," she says. Luke shuts up. She looks over and at me and smiles brightly.
"Oh, hello, Olivia! Lucas, is this the girl you complain about? Oh, she's so beautiful, how could you not like this girl? I'm so sorry about my son. He is a stubborn one. But look at you! Aw, and he's said you're American, too! Oh, Luke, you said you liked foreign girls-"
"Mum," Luke whines, turning red. I laugh. His mom is fantastic. She finally stops, letting him off the hook. "It's very nice to meet you, Ms. Hemmings," I giggle. She squeaks.
"Oh, she's so polite, too! Lucas, you made it seem like she was awful! She's so sweet," she gushes. Luke whines again, making me laugh. "And please, darling, call me Liz. I don't like 'Mrs.' or 'Ms.', it makes me seem old,"
"Mother," Luke says. I giggle. "Nice to meet you, Liz." I smile. Luke makes a choking noise. "You are not friends with my mum now," he says. Liz and I both laugh.
"I am," I smile, teasing him. Liz joins in. "Oh, she is. And you better shape up because of it, young man. I am still bitter about that lip ring, and I am going to make sure that you treat her with respect. Do you hear me? Respect, Lucas. And if she has any problems, she'll tell me, and you'll get a month in that room of yours." She says. Luke looks mortified. I'm so enjoying this.
"Yeah, yeah, thanks mum," Luke says quickly. He grabs my arm again and drags me out of the kitchen and to a hall with several doors, one in particular has loud music coming from it.
"What'd she do about the lip ring?" I tease. He glares at me. "Shut up." He snaps. I giggle as he opens the door and leads me downstairs to a renovated basement. In it, are a ton of music equipment. Guitars, amps, mics, everything.
And his friends...
"Hey, Livia! We didn't know you were coming!" Ashton smiles. He's the only one who calls me that. I hate it. Thank God it's, 'too stupid' to catch on, as the other boys say.
"Yeah, I didn't either.. Thought Luke said to come at four because you'd be done." I say. Luke smirks to himself. "You're a little shithead, is what you are," I say to him. His eyes widen and he makes a fake surprised face.
"You're a little-"
"Lucas! Watch your language!" I hear his mom call. I laugh. Luke looks at me, and if looks could kill, I'd be brutally murdered.
"I love your mother," I giggle.
"I hate you." He replies.
