[twenty four] - [a sad burrito]

I start walking. It's a long way home on foot, and I want to get away from Luke right now.

I don't know how I feel. Or what I think. All I know is that my insides are shattered and I don't feel anything. I've gotten my heart broken in different ways, and I always numb at first, before all the pain set in with all the power in world and knocked me over. I have a feeling this case will be the same way.

A car pulls up next to me. I clench my fists, preparing to beat the crap out of someone if needed. The driver rolls down the window.

"Olivia? Is that you? Are you okay?" The driver asks with concern. I squint my eyes and see a tired, messy-haired Michael. I sniff, nodding.

"Yeah, I guess. Well... no. L-Luke, h-he," I try to choke out. But then the emotions hit me. He kissed Sabrina. She was right. I'm worthless. I begin to sob. Michael opens the car door and gets out, wrapping his arms around me and holding my head.

"Don't cry, oh, Olivia, please don't cry," he says, sounding scared. "What happened, beautiful, what did he do?"

I'm crying so hard I can't talk. I shake my head. I'll tell him when I'm better. He kisses my forehead for a long time.

"I'm going to take you back to my place, okay? You can stay for a while. I have hot chocolate and pizza and cookies and whatever you want, alright?" Michael whispers. I nod, holding onto him tightly. He couldn't be a better friend than he is right now. I truly love him.

He helps me to the car and gets me in and buckled. He then gets in himself and begins to drive.

"Music?" He asks. I nod, reaching over to the dial and flipping through tasteless rap music and Taylor Swift. I sigh, sinking back into the seat.

"I have an FOB CD, if you want me to put it on," he offers. Tears fill my eyes. Fall Out Boy reminds me of Luke...

"Okay, okay, no Fall Out Boy," he says quickly. He puts on a CD I don't recognize and holds my hand.

I watch the world outside the window and cry, listening to my sniffles and Michael's soft singing. I forgot how amazing his voice is.

"You should sing more," I say quietly.  He looks over at me, smiling a little. He seems happy to be noticed. It's cute.

"Really? I don't sing much because Calum and... They have better voices, or whatever," he says, sparing me the pain of hearing his name. I shake my head, wiping my tears.

"You're just as good as them." I tell him. It makes him smile more, and he squeezes my hand. I squeeze his back, and silence engulfs us until we arrive at his house.

Michael leads me inside and to the living room. "My parents are on a trip, so you don't have to worry about them interrogating you," he smiles. I nod and curl up on the couch.

"I'll get you a blanket and that hot cocoa I promised," he tells me. I thank him and stare at the ceiling until he comes back in. I cried it out, mostly, but I'm still extremely hurt. How could he...

Michael comes back and wraps me up in a blanket. "You're a little burrito," he chuckles. I smile lightly.

"I'm a sad burrito that wants chocolate and a cuddle buddy, so hurry up with the cocoa, Clifford," I say quietly. He laughs and bends over, giving me a tight hug.

"Aw, Olivia, alright, darling," he says, kissing my cheek. He goes into the kitchen and I find a small remote on the coffee table. I press a button, making the TV go on. It's on a weird home screen. I go to Netflix, not really minding what the heck this TV is anyway.

"You found Netflix," Michael chuckles, walking in with two mugs. He sets one on the coffee table and holds the other. I wiggle up and hold the warm cup, bringing it to my nose and murmuring a 'mhmm'.

I manage to find Clueless and put it on. Michael sits next to me, allowing me to lean on him. "What makes this movie so great?" He asks. I look at him, astonished.

"You've never seen it?" I ask. He shakes his head. I roll my eyes, sipping my cocoa. "It's perfect." I say.

We watch the movie and sip hot chocolate. I pause it a few times for him to get us pizza and cookies, but other than, I'm invested in the movie. It's one of my favorites.

"Isn't he the teacher from Perks of Being a Wallflower?" He asks, pointing to Cher's 'brother'. I nod. "Pretty weird,"

Near the end of the beloved movie, I curl up with my head in Michael's lap. "I'm tired. Night, Mikey," I yawn. He plays with my hair.

"Goodnight, beautiful. Sleep tight, tomorrow is a new day,"
