Mystery POV

I have been quite lonely these past few millenniums and my life has become quite the bore. The reason to me remains a mystery. My relatives own a kingdom somewhere up on earth. So I decide to go up and see how they were doing. When my aunt and uncle saw me they immediately embrace me and asking me to become their son. Of course, me being me, I agreed. Their son has been "missing" for quite sometime because he ran away. The reason of course is unknown, but for now I'm a replacement until his return.

I am just hoping that my cousin is not that mad that I am replacing him until he comes back home. I am a natural born King, when my father steps down I will become the King of Caliginous Kingdom. I come from a huge family and they all are very supportive of me being here and helping my aunt and uncle out with their kingdom. A huge reason why I am here is also to find my mate... I guess the mystery is out then... I cannot rule my kingdom until I find her, but I still have not found her since I have gotten here.
Don't worry we'll find her... she's here I feel it.

"Son! Can you come down please!" My Aunt said.

I smile and play the part for the palace maids and butlers since they do not realize I am not the Prince.

"Coming mother!" I shout from my room sophistically walking down the stairs into the sound proof meeting room that contains only a large round table with set of wooden chairs. At the head of the table was my uncle and at his right of course was my aunt.

"You called mother?" I said.

"Oh do come in and close the door." As soon as I closed the door the lock automatically was in place and I took the seat that was right in front of me.

"Uncle, Aunt? The reason for you summoning me is?"

They smile at me and motion me closer towards them. Walking to the head of the table I sit on the a seat left of my uncle.

"We want to do something for you. For helping us out during this rough patch of our lives."

I look at my aunt and uncle saying, "You do not have to honestly. I wanted to help you because we're family and that is what we do for one another."

My aunt and uncle smile at me nodding their heads agreement. "I know. That's why we want to help you find your mate. You've been in this castle way too long. When was the last time you attended the Annual Masquerade Ball? Or left the castle? We know you've been wanting to search for your mate for a long time. The sad thing is we've delayed your search. Allow us to help you."

I look around and trying to avoid the real reason why I was here. It always feels different when other people say it.

"Well? Your uncle asked you a question. When was the last time you've been to the ball?" My aunt said.

"Six millenniums ago Uncle Daemon..."

"Have you given up?" My aunt said.

"No. I do not want to give up, but I've been waiting so long. I just feel like I'll never see her at all. Maybe she isn't here..."

"That's because you aren't searching dear. Tonight is the Annual Ball. Why don't you go out tonight and if you don't find her go out in the kingdom tomorrow and see the village. Maybe you might just bump into her?"

Nodding I say, "I will go to the ball tonight, as you wish, but I will remain in the shadows. I do not want anyone following me or herds of people bugging me. I might just miss her."

My uncle nodded his head and my aunt said, "Whatever you wish. Get ready tonight my Lord."

"Don't call me that. I'm not a King and we're family. You may call me by my name whenever and wherever."

My aunt and uncle nod their heads. I excuse myself from the meeting room to confinement and comfort of my room. Entering my room the dark color scheme began to comfort me. Don't worry mate we'll find her I have a good feeling about this one.
That's what you said about all the rest of the ones we went to.
I know because I'm telling you she was there but your just too dumb to go out and find her.
What if she doesn't like me because of who I am.
Quit being such a girl! You're going to compliment the person that your supposed to be once you find her. Tonight's we're going on a mission.

"You'll be fine your highness." I turn around and Duchan was there.

"Duchan! No way!" I ran and greet him.

"Is there trouble back in Caliginous? Why is it that your here?" I said worried.

My old friend laughed and said, "Wow! Friend! How you've grown to become a such man in such a short period of time. When was the last time I saw you? Four millenniums ago? And your highness don't worry I'm here because King Daemon and Queen Say called me here to help you find a wife. Now come, come! Tell me how you want your ball to go tomorrow?" I looked at Duchan completely puzzled.

A ball? I said to myself.

"Yes your highness a ball now what shall it be themed as?"

I look at my friend not even thinking twice,
"Be my Quest."
