Astheum POV
Lucan lightly removes my hand from Gilbert's and I scowl at him. Lucan just laughs and continues on as if he hadn't just seen my face. Gilbert slightly laughs but realizes the pain of laughing was a little too much for him to handle. Everyone slowly starts to trickle out of the room until it was just Lucan, Gilbert, and I.
Slowly I take a deep breath and say, "Lucan. Could I please talk to Gilbert."
Curiously he rose a brow unsure if he should leave or not.
"Please brother. I promise I won't hurt her I just need answers and I'm sure she does too."
"And I can't be in here while you both are getting answers from one another?"
I tightly hold onto Lucan's hand asking, "Please. I promise I'll tell you everything later."
Lucan grumbles about not being able to be with me and how he just got me and now he has to share. While Gilbert and I burst out in laughter, Lucan just walks away and opens the huge wooden door, as if it didn't weigh a thing and closes it just as effortlessly. Once it was just me and him, I walk over to his bed and sit down on it while, lightly brushing his hair out of his green eyes. Then my lips form into a tight line.
"Your mates an Angel isn't she. Is that why you got shot?"
Gilbert hums and looks at me, "So you jump straight to it huh?"
I look at him and smile saying, "Of course looks like I'll be in here all day."
Gilbert just smiles and says, "Get ready for an angry mate."
I smirk and say, " He's a big boy he can handle himself. Just tell me the story already."Gilbert's green eyes spark to life. He begins to tell me the story about how he met his mate Trina. How they'd secretly meet and hang out, all the secrets she told him about the Angel Kingdom and how corrupt it really was, how the king didn't care about the people, and how one day the king got suspicious and followed her. When he saw that she was with Gilbert he got angry and ordered Gilbert to be shot with an arrow straight through the heart.
His mate, Trina was trying to flee with him, but Gilbert had told her to leave before something bad happens to the both of them. Before he left he teleported back to his kingdom, much to the Angel King's amusement. My mind was starting to spin, there was so much that happening while I was away that I felt useless.
"Where is she?" I ask quietly.
Honestly I was hoping for the best, but in reality I knew the King wasn't as considerate.
"She's... She's..."
I already knew the answer and I didn't want him to say it. I knew that was why he wasn't hanging on anymore, the sign of life wasn't in his eyes.
"Do you want to live?" I knew this wasn't a question to ask someone once they lost their mate, but I knew that somewhere out there he had another one waiting for him.
"No I don't. Trina was my love. She was my life. I don't want to live anymore."
Lila was starting to get very upset and continuously was wanting control over me, to let her talk some sense into him. Unable to stop her she slowly took over me.
Then Gilbert was in awe and he bows saying, "Lila your highness."
Lila slightly nods her head at him and says,
"You have another mate out there Gilbert don't be selfish. She needs you more than anything and Trina has a message for you before she moves on into the afterlife."Gilbert began to cry while Trina's ghastly like figure appears before us.
"Gil. I just wanted to say I love you. I will never stop loving you and fight for your life. It's so precious."
"Nothing is precious when you're not here with me Trina." Gilbert cries out in pain.
Trina sighs and says, "You can't dwell on the past now Gilbert you have a family that loves you and a new mate out there that needs you. Don't give it all up now just because of me. Don't make that mistake. Don't. I should've left with you here to your Palace, but I didn't that was my fault. So don't. Don't blame yourself when it was me. I love you Gilbert. You need to keep living. I'll be upset if you aren't. Your Highness thank you for allowing me to speak with him before I left."
Then she disappears and leaves. Lilia acknowledges her now with a little nod as she gives me back the control of my body. I look around Gilbert's room and knew that he was lonely and not only that afraid. A room can tell so much about an individual. I knew just by glancing around at his grey colored walls and arrangement of things.
"Gilbert. I'm not telling you, you have to live okay. This is not what me and Lilia are saying. We're just saying that if you live you have so much in store for you than giving up. The choice will be yours. I'll give you till tomorrow to tell me. The Angel's venom is going to kill you in two days time so you have to tell me by tomorrow. Goodnight Gilbert. The choice will always be yours and no matter what you pick we will all be proud of you."
Gilbert just continues to stare off into deep thought and I let him. The reason for that was because right now he really needs it. I hope off the bed about to walk away from Gilbert.
He grabs my hand and saying, "Who are you?"
I smile at him and say, "Since you have Angel's venom inside you, you can see my true form. Honestly I don't even know who I am. I've only woken up, but I can say this. I am the last of my kind."
And I walk away quietly creep through the castle trying sniff out Lucan.
He's going to be fine. Lilia said.
How can you be so sure? I ask as I pass a huge window overviewing the palace.
Trust me. I know all.
It'll be his choice.
Don't accuse me of changing his thoughts. It will be his choice. Whether to live or not.
Okay. Then she left inside my mind somewhere.
