Chapter Forty-Two

(A/N: sorry guys. I've been a little down lately that's why I haven't updated in awhile. But I'm back!)

*Mikey's POV*9 days later*

Rebecca sat on one of my large suitcases as I zipped it tight. I leave in twelve days to California and her and I have been spending a lot of time together, mostly shopping for my stuff to take.

"Okay that's just one bag out of 5." I said as I cleaned the sweat on my forehead.

"You pack more than me!" Rebecca said and I laughed. "That's bad if a girl says that." I said and she agreed.

I walked over to her and hugged her. I put my head in her hair and held on to her tight. "I'm going to miss you a lot." I said.

"I'm going to miss you more." She said and I kissed her head. "We have to FaceTime everyday!" I said.

"When you aren't busy though." She said.

I let go of her and she looked sad. "Don't be sad, I'm going to come back." I said and she gave me a small smile.

"God knows when," her voice trailed. "What if something happens? To us." She said and looked at me.

"Nothing will happen. I promise. I love you very much." I said and pecked her lips and held on to her waist. I felt my phone vibrate in my jean pocket and I pulled back.

I took out my phone and it was a text message from Montana. "Is everything okay?" Rebecca asked me as I nodded. "Yeah.. it's just, Madison," I hesitated. "I'll be right back baby." I said and left my bedroom.

On my way out, I closed the door and stopped walking and stood against a wall in the hallway.

I unlocked my phone and when to her message.

-Hey Mikey. I heard u guys r going 2 be in Cali for a while. Me too! what a same world! We should hang out... if it's okay with ur girlfriend and if u can get away from her for a lil :)-

I hesitated to respond. But I knew what to write.

-Hey moe. That's really cool! and yeah we should totally chill. And don't worry, she's not going to Cali-

I started to pace my hallway back and forth. I felt like I was doing something bad.

-That's perf! see u in Cali then Mikey ;)-

-See u in Cali moe-

I walked to my bedroom with thoughts running through my head. I didn't know whether I should tell Rebecca if Montana is going to be in California... and she is going to hang out with me.

I opened the door and Rebecca smiled at me as I walked to her. "Is everything okay with Madison?" she asked me.

Her innocence killed me. How she smiled and thought I was texting someone else, but that was my own doing.

"Yeah. Everything's okay with Madison." I said. I chose not to tell her.
