A/N: Hi! So, as you guys know, I write Larry fics, and I've written quite a few. But this is something new and something different that I decided I'd like to try. I've been writing poetry for quite a while now but I've recently chosen to post a book of my poems, and get feedback from all of you wonderful people! So without further ado, here's the first! I hope you enjoy it :)
AAAAND another HUGE thank you to @uniquelyxlarry for the fab cover <3

A Crystal Box

It reverberates around the room.

I feel it in the soles of my feet,
Walking on fiery bark and rock.
It singes the tips of the strands
Of my hair --
Its smoke floats underneath my skin.

And It builds.

The waves come crashing
Into my skull,
Invading every thought with teeth
And claws
And yet, there has never been a moment
In which I've felt more True.

As the anticipation grows,
My resolve shrinks,
Until my mind becomes
A diminutive mess --
A cacophony of burning,
Of blue sparks,
Of the new.

And the wire is lit,
Flames echo outside of my mind,
The others negate
Though Truth affirms.

The worthless ashes weigh down;
My insides tick and wait,
But it's never
Any use.

I know
Because
I've tried to choke
What obliterated and created
His blue that revived,
And the conflagration
That birthed the heart.

I failed.
