Blue is a cold exterior
and a tough heart.
Blue is a solid wall
and roots grasping firmly
at earth.
Blue is clear.
Blue is honest and hidden
and unreadable.
Blue is open --
bits of gray shine through
and settle.
Blue is ice.
Blue is sparks
and intensity
and darkness.
Blue transforms
with the light and the sky.
Blue is gravity
and crumpled paper
and dried-out pens.
Blue is open arms, and all the wide world.
