You've fallen.
He's dropped you.
He promised he'd catch you,
But he failed.
He promised he'd help,
But he failed.
He promised he'd stop
Causing himself
Such pain,
But he failed.
He didn't get out,
Get out while he could.
He's stuck to her,
Unable to move
A fly in a spiderweb.
But he promised you,
He'd find a way to get free.
For you.
For him.
For the fragile concept
Of "us," together,
That I wish I'd never believed
From the start.
I should've known that he'd cave.
I should've known that this
Could not
End well
For me.
When has it ever?
He dropped me.
