Mind Wave

CHAPTER 1.

CHAPTER ONE
BEGINNING

High school, the place where most people meet their true love, discover something new; get picked on, win an award, but not for me.  Every day is practically the same boring, moody life.  First I wake up in the morning to a bad start, greeting my mom who seems to always be brooding about something she will never tell me about.  I wonder if it is because of my father because she never tells me anything about him but I guess he must be great because I don’t look like my mom so I definitely look like my dad.  Sometimes the holidays get so boring that I have no choice but to wonder what it will be like if some events could occur in my life for example meeting a really handsome guy or maybe having a lot of friends who would come visit me. 

When I look at my reflection in the mirror, I see a girl with deep black hair and green eye’s with a shade that is unusual and I guess that’s how my dad must have looked cause my mom had brown hair and eyes. I knew people who had green eyes but this shade made people afraid of me, and it made me insecure.

The neighborhood was rough, and definitely not friendly like most seen on television.  There were a of lot wild dogs roaming free, but the luck of it is they were small so they couldn’t attack. 

The neighbors were rude always shouting at each other and complained over one thing or the other about another neighbor but it seemed to be mostly about me.  They always gave me this cold look when I passed by, guess it was because I looked different with the awkward green eyes. 

School would have been interesting if I hadn’t suffer from criticism or if I had a friend but you know no one wants to be friends with a freak.  Most people who aren’t afraid hated me, but today, I will show them there is nothing to be afraid of, I will make the first move and maybe with luck I can make a friend, why? Because it’s the first section of the year and I will have the opportunity to prove how good a person I am. 

I attend eagle’s high one of the most normal school ever.

“Today marks the first day of the series of days that you will be learning in eagles high where soaring to greater heights is our number one priority… ” the teacher said with a voice that clearly showed she had already rehearsed this speech more than five times or maybe it sounded that way because it was the same thing with last year. 

“Is it me or this woman talking like a robot ” a girl with jet black hair whispered in an attempt to be funny. 

Maybe she is a transfer student Amanda thought to herself. 

“Well I know a well practiced fake accent if I ever heard one and that’s one” the girl continued, making a bunch of people to start laughing. 

“Do I know you?  You seem to remind me of something I’ve seen before” the extremely social girl said not minding Amanda’s eyes. 

Amanda thought to herself, what did I remind her off?  Maybe it was something weird. 

“I don’t remember you telling me your name but anyway my name is Amanda stones and yours is” Amanda said trying to sound friendly even if the words didn’t come out right.

  “I’m sorry I kind of forgot that I only met you today, well my name is Zoey Stark some call me Zoe but it’s only for close friends so don’t use it until it is confirmed.  So, do you want to be friends?” 

Amanda was caught unaware by this question for very few people wanted to know her name talk less of being her friend.  But she just met this girl how is she sure she can trust her and Amanda felt this so called Zoe should know what she felt about it.  “Are you sure you want to be friends, not like I don’t want to but we only just met?” Zoe nodded given Amanda the idea that her wish came early.
