Katie
I wiped the sweat from my brows before sitting up one last time.
"One hundred," Mom announced and I collapsed onto the exercise mat. This workout was supposed to started out soft. A little cardio and a little bit of core strengthening. However, my mother is never gentle when it comes to working out and as predicted she's went all out.
"Twenty five more," she smacked my knee and I groaned.
"Mom," I protested and from her corner of the room, Ivy let out a chuckle.
"You want this spot as a flyer or not?" Mom asked and Ivy shook her head in disbelief.
"Mom, I just did a hundred crunches. That double what I did yesterday, I'm going to be late for school." I reminded and she stared me down. Holding my own, I kept eye level with her. Finally, she let out a sigh and move her hands from holding my feet down.
"Let's do lunges and your cool down and you can go shower."
Letting an inhumane groan, I sat up from the mat while Ivy chuckled softly.
"What are you even doing here?" I snapped as mom handed me my weights.
"Your misery is my muse, you know that." She winked before holding up her song book.
Rolling my eyes, I turned from her and faced my mother and we went down on a lunge.

"Help me," I slid beside Ivy and she quickly closed her song book and looked at me. Rolling my eyes, I glanced down at her untouchable journal.
I gave it to her last year for Christmas and since then she's been writing song lyrics in it. But she has yet allowed me to peek inside.
"Help you with what?" She asked and I handed her my phone.
"Adam texted me again," I pouted. I wanted to text him back.
"That's the third time, I don't know how long I can hold back. I can't keep ignoring him, I'm going to see him soon."
"Why?"
"We made it to playoffs, Chesterfield is the first team we play." I ran my hands through my hair and Ivy patted my arm.
"It doesn't hurt to text him back," she shrugged. Shaking my head, I ignored her and took out my things for class.
"You're not asking for his hand in marriage, you're just texting the kid. If things result in him asking you out on a date, tell him this are too busy right now and you can't. But for now, you can still text him."
"You know I can't," I muttered as the late bell rang and I took out my phone. Ivy looked over my shoulder as I typed a quick message to Adam and I pressed send.
