Katie

"Katie, get down here right now or you'll be late for school." My mothers voice rang from downstairs.

"I'm coming!" I shouted back before turning back to the mirror. A frown took over my face as I looked down at my black skinny jeans.

They look weird on me.

And that's weird because when I tried them on in the dressing room they looked awesome. Ivy even gave me the stamp of approval.

With a sigh, I pulled them up higher and let out a huff when they slid over my hips.

That's better, I guess. It doesn't matter, I'm already running late.

"Katherine Taylor Jones!" My mother yelled again and I grumbled to myself as I finished gathering my things for school.

Mornings in my house should be a smooth one. I'm an only child so I never have to fight anyone for the shower because my parents have their own bathroom. There's never a hunt down for a certain article of clothing that a sibling borrowed and I never have to worry about missing breakfast because it's always waiting on the table when I walk downstairs.

The only problem is, I can never wake up in time. I set five alarms every morning and I sleep through all five of them until my mother wakes me up by removing my covers and blasting music until I get pushed up and I wake up.

It puts a strain on our relationship on certain mornings.

"Good morning," I kissed both parents on the cheek before taking my seat at the table.

"Morning," Dad muttered without looking up from his newspaper.

"Honey, if you want me to drop you off at school, you have to get up on time." Mom scolded before placing a plate of food in front of her.

"I'm sorry, but it's the first day and I had to look decent." I told her and she pointed to my floral top.

"I like that, did you design it?" She asked and I couldn't help my smile.

"Mom, I don't design all of my clothes." Though, I try to.

"Well you should, would save me a lot of money at the mall."

"No, it would save dad a lot of money." I teased. Both of my parents work, but the main provider for my fashion obsession is my father.

Dad let out a chuckle before holding his hand out for a high five.

"Oh shut up." Mom said with a smile on her face as a slapped my hand against dad's.

I let out a soft laugh before picking up my fork and started my breakfast.

"Move." Ivy ordered a short freshman out of the way.

"A year ago, that was you." I scolded.

"Well this year it isn't. So, I have to make sure they suffer like we did." She said as we reached the sophomore lockers.

"Ivy, the second we stepped into these halls, you became popular. You went to homecoming with a Jake Hartley a junior who was on homecoming court." I told her with an eye roll.

"Maybe, I just like to see people suffer, did you ever think about that?" She asked with a wicked grin.

"I actually have." I nodded as I opened my locker.
