A Better Best Friend

Jack POV: (I want this to be mostly about Elyssa, but I'll thrown in a Jack chapter every once in a while just so I can make writing easier)

I'm kind of upset Elyssa doesn't want to be with me, but I understand where she's coming from. She's an awesome girl and I don't want to lose her friendship, I hadn't thought about it the way she had. After she started crying we stood in the hallway for a minute, then we walked up to my room and laid down. She fell asleep within 5 minute. That's good for me because I finally get to use my phone, the first notification I see is a text from Finn.

Finn-Bro sorry that was so awkward, I didn't realize you and Elyssa were together like that
Jack-Wdym?
Finn-It was pretty clear what you guys had been up to
Jack-No it wasn't like that she was just in my clothes because she slept over
Finn-Why were you guys cuddling on the couch then?
Jack-Ok good point
Jack-Last night we were talking and we said that we liked each other, I guess I was moving too fast, but either way she doesn't want to date so I have to respect that
Finn-How can she like you but not want to date?
Jack-She wants to stay friends more than she wants to have a relationship
Finn-Yeah but you guys can still be friends if you date
Jack-That's what I thought too, but her point was what happens if we break up? Because we most likely won't be as good of friends if that happens.
Finn-Ooooooh I didn't think of that
Jack-I didn't either
Finn-So does that mean you're friend zoned
Jack-Yeah, but she has feelings for me so I don't know if this will change or if we'll get closer without actually dating
Finn-Like friends with benefits?
Jack-No not like that, like just if we were a couple and we don't even know type deal
Finn-Oh damn that might be the best option
Jack-Yeah but idk if it'll work that way
Finn-You'll have to wait and see
Jack-Yes I will
Finn-Alright bro I'm at work right now so I'll text you later
Jack-What are you doing texting me at work?
Finn-Bro this job sucks
Jack-Alright whatever bro ttyl

I turned my phone off and put it in my drawer. I rolled over and went to sleep. Ever since last night I've just been so tired. Damn concussion. I woke up and checked the time, it was 7 PM.

"What the hell!" I jumped out of bed and started to run down the hallway, but my head started pounding. I went back to my room and noticed there was a note on my dresser.

"Hey jacks its Lys, you're asleep so I'm gonna leave you asleep. It's 4 o'clock and I should go home. My mom is on her way now. I'd say text me if you need me, but you shouldn't use your phone. Seriously, NO PHONE! Anyway I hope you start feeling better I'll try to come over tomorrow if I can, if not I'll see you at school on Monday. Feel better- Elyssa Albrecht." Man she wrote me a whole letter, she's so great. I walked down the stairs and saw my parents watching tv. My dad looked up,

"Hey jack!" He said jumping up. "Sorry I missed yesterday I was in Oklahoma for that big sales pitch, I left early when I heard what had happened. I was actually in a meeting, and when I told the guy I had to come back to Maryland to see you he bought from me because he said I 'understood family was important'" he came up and hugged me. "So thanks buddy, and I'm really sorry I missed the game, and your hospital visit." I loved my dad I just wish he was home more.

"It's okay dad I understand." I said. I walked into the kitchen and got a bottle of water.

"So how're you feeling right now?" My mom asked from the living room.

"I am feeling like my head hurts." I said. My mom giggled,

"Well have you been taking your pain killers?" She asked.

"I have pain killers?" I asked.

"Honey oh no. I had no idea you didn't know I'm sorry. Has your head hurt all day?" She asked. I nodded and then grabbed my head in pain.

"Man that's a gnarly bruise man. Do you know who the kid that did it is?" He asked.

"No I'd ask my teammates, but I can't use my phone." I said. My mom got up and got my medicine. I took 2 pills and washed them down with water. "Well I'm going back to sleep so I'll see you guys in the morning, goodnight." I said walking back upstairs.

They both said goodnight and I went  to my room. I turned my light off and laid down.

Note- I wrote chapter 2-5 in the same day but I didn't post them all today. Well goodnight I can't Merk my eyes open
