A Better Best Friend

I feel bad for Emily, seeing Jaeden kiss Sophia minutes after she said she liked him. We went somewhere else just for today, I saw Finn with Millie standing at his locker so we went over to them.

"Hey guys." I said when we got to them, Finn looked at me and Emily,

"Oh hey what's up, you know Millie right? This is Elyssa." He said pointing at me, "And this is Emily." He sat patting Emily in the shoulder.

"Hi, I know you who you are, but we've never talked before so nice to meet you." She said.

"Nice to meet you too." Emily and I said at the same time.

"So how's Jack?" Finn asked smiling. That made me smile,

"Jack is currently at my house." I pulled out and looked at the time, 7:23. "With my mom and brother, but they don't know he's still there." I said. They all started laughing.

"Jack is an interesting fellow, but he sure is funny." Millie said.

"Interesting for sure." Emily said giggling. The warning bell rang so we decided to go to class, Finn and I walked to first period together because we were in the same hallway. Once we got away from Millie and Emily I decided to ask Finn about Jaeden.

"Finn." I said looking at him, he turned and looked at me, "How long have Jaeden and Sophia been dating?" I asked.

"Since Sunday, why?" He asked seeming very confused.

"Well, Emily had likes him, well at least she did and we were gonna ask if you and Jack could try to set them up but that's not gonna happen anymore." I said looking at my feet.

"Oh wow, I thought she liked me." He said giggling. "

"You did?" I asked. He smiled and nodded, "Wow, I never would've thought that you thought that." I said laughing. We passed Finns class.

"Alright I'll talk to you after class and I'll try to figure out what's going on between Jaeden and Sophia." He said. He walked into his class and then I walked down to mine. I hate biology and Mr.Clark is such a douche it really doesn't help. We spent the whole class taking notes because Mr.Clark 'Wasn't up for it today'. After first period I went to the bathroom and saw Sophia.

"Hey Sophia." I said. She looked at me surprised.

"Oh Hi Elyssa." She said seeming uncomfortable.

"So not to be awkward or anything, but I saw you and Jaeden this morning are you two a thing." I asked. She blushed,

"Well I don't really know, we were just talking and then he leaned in and kissed me." She said. "I don't even know if I like him like that, but for some reason I just couldn't pull away from him." She said scratching her neck.

"Oh okay, well If you want I could have Jack and Finn talk to him." I said. She nodded,

"Yeah that would be great thanks." She said. The warning bell rang so we left and went our separate ways. My next class was history which was my favorite, I had it with Finn. I walked in and saw we had new seats, I walked around to find my name and finally found it in the back left corner. The teachers desk was In the front right corner so I'm happy with that, I looked to see who sat next to me and it was Finn, awesome. Finn came in and saw his name.

"Yes!" He whisper yelled. I high fived him. The bell rang and everyone got their notebooks out. We started to work on the warm up. The question was 'Who was the Italian dictator during World War 2?' Finn laughed when the question came up and then he looked at me. "His name was Emperor Pizza." He said still laughing.

"You're so dumb." I said giggling. I wrote on my paper, Benito Mussolini because well, it's the right answer. Finn looked at my paper and squinted,

"You're so smart I don't even remember learning about him." He said writing the answer on his paper. "Maybe you can teach Jack a thing or two about school." He said. Finn always tried his best with Jack when it came to school, neither of them are geniuses, but Finn is definitely smarter.

"Yeah I've tried, he's good at a lot of things." I said looking down at my hands, then I looked at Finn. "School just isn't one of those things." I said smiling. I checked my phone and realized Jack was blowing up my notifications. I opened the conversation,

Jack-Hi
Jack-Hello
Jack-I tried to go to sleep, but I couldn't
Jack-Your mom just left now I can finally get some food
Jack-Update you're out of Frosted Flakes
Lys-You bitch why'd you eat my cereal
Jack-idk I just did
Lys-I hate you so much
Jack-wyd rn
Lys-Living it up in history with my buddy Finn wbu
Jack-I'm playing fortnite, I'm so good at this game
Lys-I guess I'll have to add that to the list
Jack-What?

Mrs.Conklin stood up and started talking.

Lys-gtg I'll text you later
Jack-Ugh ok

"Who can tell me the answer to today's warm up question?" She asked. Finns hand shot up in the air and then he pointed at me.

"Finn oh my god." I said slouching in my seat.

"Finn thanks for volunteering, care to share your answer?" She asked. He blushed and looked down at his paper, I read his answer and realized he wrote it down super wrong,

"His name was Bento Mouseoloni." He said confidentially. Mrs.Conklin face palmed and the whole class laughed at him. Finns face was so red. He looked at me, "What is his name?" He whispered. Finn was always easily embarrassed, sometimes I felt bad for him because he always tries his best.

"Benito Mussolini, don't worry you were close." I said patting his shoulder. He seemed more at ease knowing he was somewhat close.

"Okay thanks." He said.

"Benito Mussolini was his name, and treating his people poorly was his game. Today we'll be learning about Italy and the part it played in World War 2." She said. This should play out to be very boring. Finn and I looked at each other and then Finn put his head down on his desk.
