Before I knew it, it had rolled around to four thirty, and it was time to meet Henry on Neibolt street.
I rode my bike home and walked over there. I spotted Henry standing with his back facing me, I took a deep breath and walked over to him.
"Hey, Henry," I greeted.
Henry turned around.
"It's been ages," I said.
I'm not afraid of him, so I'm going to say what I want.
"H-hey," Henry said.
"So why did you wanna meet here?" I asked.
"I thought we needed to talk," Henry said, sitting down on the curb. He patted the ground next to him inviting me to sit down next to him, which I did.
"So what did you wanna talk about?" I asked.
"Us," Henry said.
I knew what he wanted. What he wanted was for us to be friends again. But after everything he's done, I wasn't gonna make it easy for him.
"What about us?" I asked.
"I wanted to apologize for everything that I've done," Henry said.
"What are you apologizing for exactly?" I asked.
"You aren't gonna let up, are you?" Henry asked.
"No," I said.
"Well, still the same stubborn Prim I knew," Henry laughed.
I glared at him, trying not to smile.
"I know you wanna smile," Henry said.
I rolled my eyes.
"Whatever," I scoffed.
Henry laughed, then he took a deep breath and changed into a more serious tone.
"Primrose, we've been through a lot in the past. I mean we were friends since we were really young till we were like thirteen, and that was no accident. I mean we were always there for each other through everything we went through, and then I fucked up. I started hanging with Patrick, Belch, and Vic. And that's when I started neglecting you, and you had no one," said Henry.
"When you ditched me, my mum left, and I was living on the fucking street," I said.
"It was really bad timing, I guess," Henry said. "Us stopping being friends and then you losing your mum and living on the street."
I nodded.
"I wouldn't have had anyone if you had ditched me. I let those guys hurt you and I didn't do anything about it, I mean I wanted to. But lately, I've been telling them to lay off. And I know you noticed that. Then you made those new friends, those losers. And when I say that I mean they call themselves that, not that they are losers. And I mean part of that is my dad talking, he puts so much pressure on me to live with hatred for everyone, like him. I mean only you know the real me, and I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true. If Patrick, Belch or Vic saw me cry they'd laugh," Henry said. "So, I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am."
He was sobbing a bit after he finished his little speech.
"Henry," I said. "I can forgive you."
"Really?" He asked. "What do you mean you can?"
"I mean we are cool now, but it will take time for me to actually forgive you," I said.
"Do you think things could go back to the way they were?" Henry asked.
