We arrived back at Henry's house after it had gotten dark and Butch's car was gone.
"Looks like he's gone for the night," Henry said. "He's on night patrol for the next few nights, so he doesn't get back till like seven am. Do you wanna come inside?"
"Sure," I agreed. "Can I sleep over? We haven't had one of our sleepovers in ages, I miss our traditions."
"Yeah," laughed Henry. "Me too."
"Some of them were pretty weird," I said. "Like the cheese one."
"Maybe. But cheese is just so good," Henry said as I nodded in agreement.
We entered his house.
"All my stuff is at Vic's," I said.
"No worries, I'll call him and get him to bring it over," Henry said.
"Cool," I said calmly.
I sat down and turned on the TV.
"Secret Admirer, next on AMC," The TV announced.
"Henry! My favorite movie is on TV soon," I said. "We're watching it."
"Secret Admirer?" Henry asked.
"Yep," I said.
"I'll order takeout, Dad's got some money around," Henry said. "Chinese?"
"Yep, I said.
We always used to order Chinese when we had our sleepovers.
A few minutes later Vic had driven over in Belch's car with my stuff. Henry had already changed into sweatpants and a hoodie so I put on some light blue skinny jeans and one of Henry's sweaters.
We sat down in front of the TV and laid out the food as the movie started.
We got noodles, spring rolls, dumplings, ice tea and accompanied it with some camembert cheese.
We had a little spinner, and we'd spin it and it would tell us what kind of cheese we should have that night. I know it sounds stupid, but it's really fun.
"C Thomas Howell really is cute," I said, admiring his face as I watched the movie.
"He's okay," Henry said.
"Especially in The Hitcher, he was smoking in that. Even better in that movie where he had that mullet. I've never seen anyone pull off a mullet better than him," I laughed, purposely teasing Henry.
"Come on Prim," snickered Henry. "I'm sure there's someone who pulls off a mullet better than him?"
"Hmm," I thought. "No."
Henry pushed me back into the couch and tickled me all over, he knew being tickled was my weakness.
"Admit it!" Henry laughed.
I screamed out in laughter. "NO!"
I felt Henry's hands on my body and suddenly they felt like Cole's hands.
"HENRY STOP," I yelled in tears.
Henry pulled his hands away immediately.
"I'm so sorry, Prim," he said, pulling me into a hug. "I should have thought about what I was doing."
"No," I said. "It's not your fault."
"I feel really bad for making you feel like that," Henry said.
"No, please don't feel bad," I insisted. "It's just me."
"Don't think it's your fault either," Henry said.
"I try not to, but sometimes when someone touches me it triggers me and other times I just forget all about Cole and my mind stays on the person who I'm with," I said.
"Just don't do anything unless you're completely comfortable. I'm sure if you're with the right person you'll never feel that way with them," Henry said.
I cuddled into him and he put his arm around me.
"Henry?" I asked.
"Yeah?" He asked, concentrated on the movie.
"Are you looking forward to school this year?" I asked.
"Not really, I mean it's school. It's the same every year," Henry said.
"I feel like it might be different this year," I said. "After everything that's happened."
"You mean like me, Vic, Patrick, and Belch being friends with you guys?" Henry asked.
"Yeah," I said. "I mean we've kind of got the Greasers on our side too now. And if all three of the groups combined, I think things could be great for everyone. We've all got a lot of power and if we put that power to good use who knows what could happen."
"Well, the Losers Club isn't really a thing right now. But I think it still could be. Those guys are tight. And I think you're right," Henry said. "This year could be different."
"I've got no idea what I'm gonna do when high school ends," I said.
"Didn't you say that you wanted to get married?" Asked Henry.
"Yeah," I said. "But only if I find the right person."
"Of course, yeah," Henry said. "Me too. I really want to leave Derry."
"Me too," I agreed.
Henry and I could talk for hours, about anything and everything and no topic was ever awkward. That's what happened that night, we talked until we could no longer keep our eyes open.
I woke up the next morning feeling incredibly sick and boiling hot. I threw off Henry's sweater, got up and ran as fast as I could to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet.
Henry was standing at the door. "Prim?"
"Don't come in here," I said. "You don't need to see this. Can you grab my bag?"
Henry grabbed my bag from the other side of the room and I reached in to get my toothbrush. Then I saw my tampons and a wave of terror went through me.
"What is it?" Henry asked as he saw my terrified face.
I stood up and paced around the bathroom.
"Will you tell me what's going on?" Henry asked.
"I'm- I'm late," I said. "My period's late."
I walked over to the mirror and inspected my stomach. It looked normal.
"Is that even possible?" Henry asked, voice shaking.
I thought back to all the times with Cole. I'm sure it could be somehow possible.
I nodded.
"Wh-who?" Henry asked.
"Cole," I whispered. "There's been no one else."
"I-I don't what to say," Henry said. "But I'll be here for you, you know, through everything, and u-um I'll help you with it."
"Thanks, Henry," I said. "But I still don't know for sure yet, you know, if I am."
"We'll figure this out," Henry said, putting his arm around my shoulders.
ahhh drama. what do you guys think of prim being pregnant? do you think henry will actually help her? will she tell cole?
