"That's twenty dollars, love," said the man who worked at the art store.
I was at the art store to print eleven copies of all the photos I took in New York of us and of the things we saw. Along with them, I bought a photo album for each of us so I can give them all an album so we can remember. I took a beautiful photo of Henry when we were at the cafe, so I made sure to print it and I put it in the other side of my locket. The photo of my mother remained on the other side, I wanted to replace it with a picture of Dallas, but my mother gave me the locket while I was born, and I really miss her. I feel like if I keep her photo in the locket it's like she's still with me.
School is starting again tomorrow. Henry moved in with Vic. Vic's parents adopted Henry after his dad was pronounced dead. He was always missing and they never found him. They never found out that he was dead.
Dallas and I finally moved out of our house. He's not supposed to turn eighteen until November but we got special permission because of bereavement since Cole isn't around anymore. As time goes on I feel better and better about myself and about how things are going. Things are going well for me and I'm hoping that nothing and nobody messes it up.
I still get triggered every now and then, and I can't help thinking that those triggers might never go away. I feel so confident around Henry, he doesn't make me fear physical contact. He makes me feel like I can do anything. I'm still going to wait before doing anything with him, partly because I want to wait until I'm truly ready and I want it to be perfect.
The house Dally and I moved into is in the neighborhood where Bill, Vic, and now Henry live. The house is really nice, and Dally and I are closer than ever. We're all going into the tenth grade and I'm looking forward to it. I know so many more people this year and I feel so lucky to have the friends I have and the people who care about me.
"So, Primrose, why do you want this position?" Asked Mr Pope who worked at the Derry Diner.
"I feel like a bit of responsibility would be good for me," I said. "I'm a hard worker and I don't give up."
"What's one challenge that you've had to overcome?" Mr Pope asked.
"My friends and I faced a pretty big challenge this Summer, and when we put all our strengths together and worked together it worked out so well," I told him.
"These friends," Mr Pope said. "Tell me about them."
"Well, I always have fun when I hang out with them. They're really funny, especially Richie and Patrick. I'm really lucky to have them," I explained.
"I like your smile," Mr Pope said. "I think you'll be good for this job."
"Thank you," I said with a wide smile.
"No problem, blonde," Mr Pope said. "What was your name again?"
"Primrose," I told him.
"Okay, blonde. You can start next Tuesday after school, be here around six," Mr Pope said. "You'll get your uniform and everything then."
"Thank you so much," I exclaimed. "See you next week."
"See you soon," Mr Pope said.
My plans for the rest of the night were simple. Meet everyone at Bill's for dinner and then go back with Henry and Vic and spend some time with Henry. Dally and I were going to end the night with Sixteen Candles and snacks.
Everything was good, for now. And I knew that if trouble arises if I had Dally, Henry, and all my friends, I would be okay.
