About a week after the incident at the movies, posters were going up about Ethan going missing. Naturally, everyone assumed it to be just another one of the usual missing kid cases, well little did they know. Belch and Patrick got rid of the body, I don't know how and where, I didn't ask. I'm still staying with Vic. His parents work a lot so they aren't home much, so we have the house to ourselves a lot. I was originally going to try and hide from Vic's parents but they saw me and didn't mind that I was staying. I think they just assumed that I was Vic's girlfriend. I've gone home every few days to take more clothes and stuff like that. I try to go during the day when Cole is at work. I consider myself lucky he hasn't hunted me down yet.
I haven't seen any of the Losers, except for Bill last week. Henry, Vic, Patrick, Belch and I have been out almost every day and I'm surprised we haven't run into any of them. But I guess it makes sense. Mike is probably working at the farm, Ben at the library, Eddie's Mum is probably holding him hostage in his house, Richie's probably at the arcade and Bill probably hasn't been around town much and Stan is probably doing stuff for his dad.
We were currently over at Henry's house. Henry took some of his Dad's guns and we were shooting targets.
"Let's do the whiskey bottle," Henry said.
I picked it up and put it on the table that was about ten meters away from where we were shooting, right in the middle.
I sat back down next to Vic and took a few more sips of my beer.
Henry raised the gun and the bullet hit exactly in the middle of the target.
"Fuck yeah!" Henry awed.
"There we go!" Belch said.
"Bonus!" Vic said.
If you shot the target in the middle, you got another turn.
"There's my next target," Henry said, gesturing to a cat.
"You're not going to shoot a cat, are you?" I asked.
"I'll make it really far away so I miss," Henry said.
"No," I said. "You aren't going to do that."
"Yeah, I don't think that's the best idea," Belch agreed.
"You heard me," Henry snapped. "Belch, go pick the cat up."
Belch obeyed and walked over to the cat, picking up it. I don't know what Henry was trying to achieve here.
"Just hold it!" Henry yelled over to Belch.
"What's going on here?" Butch's voice boomed as he exited the house, catching sight of what we were up to.
"Um, just cleaning your guns," Henry told him.
"Cleaning my guns?" Butch asked.
Henry nodded.
"Is this true?" Butch asked us.
We all nodded.
Butch yelled and we all jumped.
Butch pulled a gun out of his belt and shot the ground around Henry's feet, causing Henry to cry in terror.
"Look at him now, kids," Butch laughed before he turned around, got into his car and drove off to work.
I walked over and hugged Henry, who cried into my shirt.
"We'll leave you guys," Vic said.
The others piled into Belch's car and drove off.
"I hate him so much," Henry cried.
"I know," I agreed.
"I bet you all think I'm some kind of pussy," Henry said sadly as we headed out for a walk.
"No way," I said.
"Since you came along, they seem to be a lot more accepting and a lot more kind, you could even say they're more human," Henry explained. "I mean I feel like when I hang out with you I become a better person."
"Well, maybe they have," I said. "You definitely have."
"You've just got this thing about you that makes people respect you, and you've got this confidence that makes anyone wanna be around you," Henry said.
"Thanks, Henry," I laughed.
"Well, I'm so glad we become friends again. I don't think I could ever tell anyone else what I've gone through. I just feel like you get me," Henry said.
"Of course I get you," I smiled. "You're my best friend."
"You're my best friend too, and the others are coming around," Henry said. "Like they're starting to respect you more and be less pervy."
"Yeah, I noticed. That's what happened with Richie. When I started hanging out with the Losers Club he would always act like kind of a creep, but with time he got better," I explained.
"They just needed time to get to know you. I think your personality came through very strong to them and it helped them see you as a person more than just an object. But Vic's liked you for a long time so it was a different story for him," Henry told me.
"A long time?" I asked.
"Well, yeah," Henry said. "He said when you guys were partners for something in maths you caught his attention he just like started talking about you all the time, and I think he probably still likes you. But he just doesn't wanna screw you guy's friendship up."
"Oh," I said, looking down.
"Do you like him?" Henry asked, looking deep into my eyes.
"No," I said. "Or I wouldn't have ended it so quickly."
"Why did you start something with him in the first place?" Henry asked.
"I did have feelings for him. But I don't think they were strong enough because they faded right after we got together. And I didn't wanna stick around to see if they came back because I didn't want to put Vic through that or lead him on," I said.
"I get it," Henry said.
"Have you ever been in love?" I asked.
"Yeah," Henry said. "What about you?"
"Yep," I said.
