"Power outage." You and Gabby spoke at the same time; your faces filled with shock. Coincidence? There was no way. It had to be Michael. He'd gotten to Laurie. What were you and Gabby meant to do now?!
"We have to go check on her!" You blurted out quickly, slamming your laptop lid shut. Michael wouldn't kill her...would he...? With urgency you hurried outside, slamming the door behind you as you ran towards the street.
"(Y/n)!"
"Gabby!" You both chorused in alarm, both of you afraid. You had to go find Laurie. But where...?"We don't even know where Tommy's house is!" Gabby clutched at her short hair and paced around, unhappy.
"Well we do know where Laurie's house is. M-Maybe her parents know where Tommy lives." You thought desperately - Gabby brightening up at your plan.
"There's no time to waste! Let's go!" She snatched up your wrist and the two of you sprinted to Laurie's house.
You were about to knock on the door when Gabby noticed it had been forced open; dread kicking you in the gut. Both of you rushed inside - only to see two corpses draped on the carpet of the living room. Your eyes widened in horror, whilst Gabby turned away. No doubt about it, these were Laurie's parents...well adoptive parents. Michael must've already been here. Which means Laurie was still in danger!
"I know this is...horrible, but we need to keep moving. For Laurie's sake. T-They probably have an address book or something, let's look." You snapped out of your stunned state and searched the living room, rummaging through the bookshelves and looking everywhere.
"Gabby! C'mon, I need you!" You spoke impatiently, seeing your friend throw-up.
"I-I'm sorry. You're...You're right, I-It's just...the smell." Gabby choked as she held the wall, panting.
"You take five...I'll keep looking." You decided and went upstairs - looking for an office.
They had to have an address book somewhere. You found a small study and hurried inside, seeing a large desk. Bingo! Your heart pounded as you opened the drawers, ransacking the place accidentally. Someone else could tidy up later...probably. You took out a black leather book and opened it, grateful when you saw addresses and phone numbers neatly scribbled in.
"Doyal...Doyal...Where's Doyal...?" You flicked through the pages speedily; looking for the Doyal house. Thankfully, you found it, so you ripped the page out and sped downstairs - seeing Gabby take deep breaths.
"I found the address, I found it!" You chanted proudly, waving the crinkly paper.
"Let's hope we're not too late." Gabby weakly replied as she left Laurie's house with you.
"How long has it been? Around ten minutes?" You asked sharply, and Gabby checked her watch.
"Fifteen." She whispered.
"Let's hurry then. We have to get there and—" Gabby bumped into someone; someone that was very familiar.
"Laurie-?" You frowned in confusion and Gabby threw her arms around her.
"You're alive!" Gabby added happily - relieved.
"Yeah! The power failed for some reason, but I don't think it was Michael. Or if it was, he was just trying to scare me. I was taking Lindsey home and then I was gonna go to your house to explain." She ruefully responded.
