A loud scream rang through your ears, your heart beating wildly as your body grew unbearably hot. Were you lying...on the ground? Your vision was blurry and bright, different things flashing across your barely-open eyes. You hadn't been asleep, but how else could you explain this exhaustion? The last thing you remember was Lucian dragging you by your hair across the room. Where was he now? Was this what death felt like? Your eyes opened wider and your limbs began to sluggishly move; your arms pushing you into a sitting position. What you saw...horrified you.

Lucian was standing opposite Gabby, shock filling his features as a giant hole was ripped through his stomach. His intestines were hanging out - blood gushing down his body whilst his knees gave out under him. He gasped in pain and switched back to his normal form, his hands holding his stomach in a desperate attempt to survive. Gabby and an unfamiliar man both had their backs to you - the bloodstained male moving to block the path to you protectively. You appreciated him for that.

"G-Gabriella...you...why...why did you-?" Lucian choked out, breathing heavily as he grew weaker.

"You left me no choice. I-I'm sorry. You did this to yourself." Gabby spoke in a high-pitched tone, sounding extremely strained.

"B-But...I did this all for you. Come on..." He groaned and shook from the pain, slowly bleeding out.

"You hurt someone I cared about - that's not for me. You should've respected her decision not to be friends and left it at that. Because... Because I still had the memories of our friendship, and that's all that matters." Gabby's voice grew warmer, the girl changing back to her human appearance.

"You're...You're a fool Gabs. You've turned...soft." Lucian gave a mocking grin - living up to his arrogant attitude until the end.

"Goodbye...brother." Gabby picked up one of his throwing knives and slit his throat, tears slithering down her cheeks like slow snakes. And that's how Lucian died; a jeering smile still on his face.

Gabby dropped the knife and turned, wiping her eyes before she noticed you were awake. "(Y-Y/n)... How are you feeling? Are you okay?" She asked in a worried manner, walking towards you and holding her hand out.

"Gabby...? What's going on...?" You asked in bewilderment - taking her hand and letting her pull you to your feet.

"Lucian, he...he twisted your personality, so you'd try and kill Michael. Lucky I switched you back in time, huh?" She cracked a soft smile as she tried her best to explain.

"Michael...?" You threw her a quizzical glance and then moved your eyes to the man beside you, shock flitting across your face.

"Y-You! Gabby, help me! He-He tried to strangle me! He killed my mom and now he's here to finish me off! No! No, no, NO! Do something Gabby! Do something! Please!" You sobbed in distress, clinging to her chest and shaking.

Gabby flashed the serial killer a worried gaze and then wrapped her arms around you, wanting to calm you down. "No, (Y/n) listen to me. Lucian messed around with your memories of Michael, he didn't try to kill you."

"No no, he did, he did! I just want to go home! I-I want to be safe! Gabby..." You wailed.

"And you'll be safe with Michael. All I've done is ruin the relationship between the two of you. This ends now." She spoke sternly, giving the stalker a serious nod.

Michael nodded in return and gripped his knife, advancing towards her solemnly. "W-Wait...what are you talking about Gabby? What ends now?" You tearfully asked, concerned as she sighed.

"I know this is a lot to ask...but please, remember me as your best friend. You meant everything to me. I loved spending time with you and hanging out, so...please forgive me." Gabby replied miserably.

"I...I forgive you." You whispered in worry, confused by her sudden sadness.

"That makes me so happy. Thank you." Her eyes filled with happy tears, the girl managing to beam at you one more time.

Then it was over; Michael grabbing the girl by the neck and plunging his knife through her chest. She didn't even scream, her smile still upon her lips whilst she took the stab in stride. Your eyes widened as you let out a scream of terror, your hands clutching your hair and gripping the strands in fright. You didn't understand, why did she accept her death so easily? Why had she given the guy a nod, if all he was going to do was end her life? Tears of anguish swam down your face, your heart breaking as you watched your closest friend pass away before your very eyes.

You may of hated her for a while, but deep down you valued the memories of her...you still...you still cherished the deep friendship between you two. And now, she was gone. The male pulled the sharp blade out of Gabby and let her body gracefully hit the floor, her white strands spread around her head like a halo. Your eyes were the size of saucers whilst a tense silence took over the room, the stalker straightening up and staring at you. Oh no...was he about to-? You turned on your heel and tried to run away, terrified by the very idea of staying around the serial killer.

You didn't get very far however, because the masked male slung one arm around your waist and forced you to stop; his other hand still holding the knife. You were writhing in his grasp, hysterical with panic after watching him take out the only kind person in the room. But then...then he dropped his knife - the weapon clanking against the concrete ground and confusing you further. Was he...was he not going to slaughter you too? Were you safe?

"No, no, please. Please don't hurt us, please! No, please don't hurt me, please!"
"Put the knife down. You're scaring her."
To your surprise he listened to you, the steely kitchen knife clattering to the ground as he complied.

"I...I don't understand. Lucian told me that you'd died, and I got upset...but why did I get upset? You're trying to kill me." You mumbled unhappily, whirling around to face him.

The killer shook his head in disagreement, pulling his arms away when he saw that you were no longer trying to escape from him. You, on the other hand, were incredibly perplexed; puzzled by your contorted memories and his cautious persona. He wasn't trying to attack you, heck he wasn't even restraining you any longer. His clothes were damp with blood, causing you to flinch and take a tiny step back - a little scared by his disheveled appearance.

But when you looked into his eyes, all you saw was concern and hurt. Why did he look so heartbroken? He pushed his hand into his pocket and dig around for something, bending his head down whilst he focused entirely on this task. Then he pulled something out; a silver bracelet glinting against his rough palm. That piece of jewellery...it was way too small for you to wear, or him for that matter. Yet it looked so familiar... You took it from him hesitantly, inspecting it further.

"My mother might come back - I have to go!"
"Already?"
"I don't want to be caught breaking the rules. I'll um...I'll see you at school right?"

"M-Michael wait-!"
"I knew as soon as I'd met you that I liked you - I even kept your bracelet. It smells just like you do...and it's pretty, just like you are. It was like we were made to be together."
"I-I thought I lost that bracelet-!"

"This is mine...we knew each other from when we were kids..." You murmured intently, curling your fist around the bracelet and looking up at him in surprise.

Michael nodded, clasping his hands over your hand and squeezing it softly. You were unsure of what to say, acting skittish whilst you thought for a bit. You had memories of him, sure, but you didn't know what was real and what wasn't. Was it the violent ones that were the wrong ones? Or was Gabby mistaken? The male in front of you grew agitated, moving one hand to his mask and slipping it off. As soon as you saw his face, your heart skipped a beat - reminding you of who was in front of you. It was Michael...your Michael.
