The walk home was quiet, a few crows cawing in the distance whilst you carried the shopping bags. It was almost evening, the golden sunset glowing as you reached your house. Hopefully Michael hadn't been too lonely. Him sulking wouldn't be very fun either, but you had to go shopping and see your mother. There wasn't much of a choice. With a sigh, you dropped the bags and unlocked the door, pushing it open so you could enter the house. Your eyes widened when Michael flew towards you, flinging his arms around your body and pressing his head into your chest.
"Michael? Is something wrong?" You asked worriedly, placing a hand on top of his wild hair.
He didn't respond, only hugging you tighter as he nuzzled into your stomach. Something was definitely up. With both hands you cradled his cheeks and angled his face towards you, seeing a slash on his cheek and pain in his eyes. What had happened to him?! Michael was incredibly riled - his breathing heavier than usual as his body twitched. You were so worried that you did the only thing you could think of to calm him down; pressing your lips against his and giving him a very sweet kiss.
It seemed to do the trick, the worked-up male being slightly soothed by your affectionate gesture. The soft smooch lasted a few minutes, you tenderly running your hand through his hair before you pulled away. Michael then fell to the ground, exhausted from something. Panicking, you saw the shoulder wound and the sliced leg, causing you to freak out. Had there been some sort of fight? You wrapped his arm around your neck and supported him - helping him to lie on the sofa.
Then you looked around, seeing the broken coffee table and the fallen DVD shelf. Had it been a fight? Or did your boyfriend have a lonely temper tantrum? You glanced at the ripped wallpaper, seeing two throwing knives lodged into the wall. Wait...you'd seen those knives before. You thought back to when Michael pinned Lucian against the wall - the teen dropping a throwing knife similar to these. Had Lucian broken into your home and started a battle with the serial killer?
"Michael honey, what happened? Did someone attack you?" You questioned in a gentle voice, unbuttoning the navy jacket and seeing the stab wound. He nodded curtly - as if he was ashamed of even getting a scratch.
"Was it when you got the new clothes? Or was it when Lucian attacked you?" Your voice grew strained, Michael looking surprised at your conclusion. Then he raised his hand - his finger pointing towards the throwing knives. So it was Lucian.
"I won't stand for this. Gabby said they'd leave us alone. But to start a fight the moment I leave the house...that's low!" You spoke in a low and angry tone, straightening up as you planned to confront them. Michael grasped your wrist and shook his head, not wanting you to confront them by yourself.
"Look what they've done to you...I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry. I'll go get some bandages, hold on." You gave him a quick kiss on the forehead and then hurried off into the bathroom, searching the medical cabinet immediately. Thank goodness you had some. You grabbed the box of bandages and a wet flannel before returning to your tired-out lover, worried sick about him.
"Here...you're gonna have to take your shirt off. Let me do it." You slid his jacket down and slipped off the black shirt, seeing the bloodied injury in more detail.
Staying quiet, you cleaned out the wound and then applied the bandages around his shoulder, tying it into a tight knot as you made sure it was secure. You were so focused that you didn't even notice the silent tears running down your face - Michael softly touching the skin underneath your eyes and wiping them away. You flashed him a grateful glance before moving to his leg, rolling the jeans up and doing the same. Once you double checked that his injuries were okay, you took another trip to the bathroom - taking a box of plasters with you.
