I knock on Ate's door, not stopping until she opened it.
"Kare--"
"I need to get to the hospital." I said to her breathlessly.
She frowns, "Who's in the hospital?"
"Derrick," I breathe. "Please, I just need to go there. I called Jessica, when I went to see Derrick, he said he can't breathe properly. I--"
"Okay. Calm down. Calm down. We'll get David."
We went to David's room but he's not there. I started screaming down the hall.
"What's going on?" Mom said.
I ignore her. Ate talked to her.
"DAVID!"
I ran down the stairs.
"DAVE?!"
"What!" I hear him but I don't see him.
"Where are you?!"
"OUTSIDE!"
I ran out of the house and we bump into each other.
"Kar. What's wrong?"
"Derrick's in the hospital. I need to get there--"
"Where's Kristina?" He enter the house to the living room.
"She's talking to Mom."
"Kristina?!"
"David!" Ate calls upstairs.
"Kristina! You're not going anywhere!" Mom shouts.
"Dave! Take her to the hospital!"
Dave hesitates but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me out of the house. We climb in his car. A black toyota one.
"What hospital?" he asked as he buckle his seatbelt.
"Makati Medical Center."
"Fasten your seatbelt."
I do what I was told to.
He starts the engine and floored the gas. I was thrown back to my seat.
"Jesus! Slow down! You'll kill us both!"
"Sorry," he slows down.

"Hello?"
"Where are you?" Jessica asked.
"Shaw. We'll be there in fifteen minutes. How is he?"
"He's sleeping."
"Is he going to be fine?"
"It's not something to talk about over the phone."
My heart stiffens. I wish I have never left him earlier.
"He'll be fine. He won't leave me like that." I whisper.
"Oh, Karen."
"Don't." I swallow.
"Okay. See you."
"Okay." I hung up.
David reaches for my hand and squeeze it. He's not talking since he started driving.

"What room?" David asked.
"Jessica said it's Buildung B. Room 709."
"Here." He guides me to the elevator and he pressed 7. After a minute, the elevator stopped and we walk out. We walk down the hall. I see the label of the rooms.
