I sat in a chair in Owens office with Axel sitting across from me next to Owen himself, waiting on the bell to ring for the boys to come here. I had no idea exactly where the rest of the Toma team was, but I was sure they'd be here soon. My legs were pulled up as I watched them, Owen typing quietly at his computer and Axel ordering items for his aquarium.
I was scared, and I hoped it didn't show on my face. I could practically feel my heart pounding in my chest, almost hear it in the quiet room. My breath caught as the bell rang, my eyes sliding to Owens watchful gaze. Did they know?
I looked out the window as the door began opening and closing, not bothering to look up and see who was there. I could smell them, spice and ocean air, citrus and moss, gunpowder and coffee beans. My heart squeezed painfully, pressure building behind my eyes.
This sucked the big one.
"Sang," I looked up to Norths anguished face, his broad shoulders nestled right next to Raven and Silas. If I wasn't so broken, I'd be drooling.
"Yes North?" My voice was clipped as he peered back to Owen, his eyes narrowed on my slightly.
"Sang, we have to talk to you about something." I rolled my lip between my teeth as I let my legs go, leaning forward slightly.
"I, I do too."
"Please Pookie, can we go first?" I nodded to Sean, my eyes flickering over the fourteen of them crammed into Owen and Sean's small office.
"I'm sorry malen'kaya ptitsa, it was wrong to follow you without telling you." My eyes widened as I looked at Raven, his deep brown eyes slightly glassy as he looked at me. "I was afraid little one, I'm not good at English like others, but I was afraid to lose you and Corey."
My mouth slightly dropped, along with almost everyone in the room. This was the first time Raven had truly spoken about something emotional, besides sex I mean. My eyes flickered to Corey, his eyes wide and glassy as he looked at Raven. He swallowed before looking straight at me, a determined edge to his eyes.
"He's right Sang, we were afraid to lose you. We, we care about you Sang, Sunshine, all of us." I swallowed, much like he did, before glancing to Axel as he cleared his throat.
"All fourteen of us isn't conventional, we know, and we know there's going to be a lot we have to go over–"
"We set some rules in place, like letting you initiate any romantic gestures." Owen cut in, my eyebrows furrowing as I looked at him.
"Owen, no." He reeled back, his eyes wide as they rest of them stared at me. "Guys, this would be a relationship, there aren't any rules besides the regular no cheating and no lying. I want you guys to kiss me without me doing it first, I want to be surprised, this, this isn't some fucking mission you can plan out!"
The room was silent before Nathan stood up, my cheeks heating up slightly as I watched him. "Thank fucking God."
He crossed the room and bent down, pressing his lips to my own. He tasted sweet, almost like honey as I practically melted against him. I pulled back as I looked at him with wide eyes, his dark blue ones searching mine. Even if he didn't know it, he had just taken my first kiss.
I wasn't stupid, I couldn't be in my line of work. I knew about sex, about kissing, but it wasn't like I ever got close enough to anyone to experiment with. My cheeks heated even more as he stood up fully, a huge grin crossing his face.
"Mr. Griffin!" Owen exclaimed, my eyes shooting straight to Owen.
"Oh knock it off Owen, you're just jealous you didn't get to it first." Sean commented, earning a tick from Owen as he glared back at him.
