The sounds of the heart monitor woke me up, a dull ache in my shoulder expanding down the veins in my arm. I grit my teeth as I moved my arms up, wiping away at my eyes before hissing in pain from one of them. I could now open that eye, but it was still obviously swollen, and hurt like a mother fucker.
I really needed to stop hanging out with Gabriel.
I groaned and switched off the heart monitor before unplugging it just to be sure, ripping off all of the patches on my body before carefully taking my IV out of my arm. I sighed as I looked around the room, rumpled blankets lining the couches as well as a pile of sweats sitting on the corner table. I thanked whoever was above as I pushed myself out of the bed, taking the clothes and hobbling to the bathroom.
I groaned even louder when I caught sight of myself in the mirror, my one eyes dark purple and blue while my hair looked like an absolute rats nest. I blew out a raspberry before starting the shower, jumping in before it heated up and tracking my hair. I was careful of my bandages and wound, washing and scrubbing the rest of my skin a little extra harsh.
My mind kept flashing back to the guy under the mask, those dark eyes that almost appeared golden when the light would flash onto them from the silver gun. I forced myself away and got out, replacing my bandages and getting dressed in the dark grey sweats. I didn't bother with a bra or underwear since non were provided for me, hobbling out again and into the busy hospital hallway.
I scrunched my face at the bright fluorescent lights, weaving my way as gracefully as possible down the hall to the elevator. I pushed the button Phil's office was located on, stepping off onto the floor. I smiled as I got closer, tensing when loud Russian accented yelling cut through the air.
"What the hell do you mean you have no idea where the bastard is?! He shot her!" I furrowed my eyebrows, bypassing Phil's office completely and making my way towards the large conference rooms in the back.
"We mean exactly that. The only person that has ever had any contact with him, is currently passed out in a coma downstairs Raven." Phil's voice settled me, my tense muscles relaxing involuntarily.
I hated yelling. Even after years and years of being away from my step mother, I will always hate yelling. I knocked on the closed wooden door before pushing it open slightly, only to jump back as a man stepped through. His chocolate hair sat tousled on his head, standing close to six feet with a faded band t shirt. That wasn't what caught my attention though; it was the mismatched eyes that startled me into oblivion.
I felt my breath catch as he stared at me as if he's seen a ghost, his mouth slightly open as he watched me warily. "Dude, who's at the door!?"
Luke's voice cut through the air, causing the man in front of me to shake his head before taking a step back, his eyes flickering between me and the rest of the guys. I smiled softly at him, sticking my palm out in his direction.
"Names Sang." He chuckled as the sound of stomping feet and screeching chairs filled the room.
"Oh, I know that." His deep voice was tinged with a southern accent before a hand pushed him out of the way. I giggled as Gabriel practically launched himself at me, with Luke following not far behind him, all the while North and Sean shouted at them to be careful of my wound.
My muscles tended against their better reactions, causing them to cramp under my skin. I grit my teeth and forced a smile, begging and pleading with whoever was above to let my muscles run loose instead of caving them up like this.
"Guys! I'm okay." Gabriel finally released me, his hand looping through mine as Luke backed away and stared into my eyes.
"Are you okay Sugar?" I smiled and nodded, following Gabriel into the room.
