"Get a medic in here!" Will cried when we reached, somewhat, safety. "We don't have enough men! Do not engage Sentinel!" he ordered, running with us and another soldier.
Will caught up to Mearing, who was dazed after watching Sentinel's destruction of the base. "Director Mearing, come on!" he grabbed her. "We can't fight him. Let's go. We have to go!" Sentinel was destroying everything, before grabbing the pillars and leaving.
Optimus drove in just as Sentinel left. People were running around, trying to save the injured, and moving away the dead. Optimus looked like if he could cry, he would have. He looked like he wanted to beat himself to a pulp. I sent a link of reassurance to him. He smiles.
"Yeah, take a look, Optimus! This is all on you!" Mearing snapped. I snatched away from Will, slapping Mearing hard across the face.
"It's not he's fault!" I snapped about to slap her again but Will grabbed my wrist preventing me from doing so.
"I want her arrested for assault!" Mearing demanded, "Men! Get her!" The NEST soldiers come in surrounding me.
Optimus intervenes slamming down his servos the soldiers and Mearing flying backwards, from the impact. Including Will.
Optimus transformed quickly ordering Sam and I to get in now.
Optimus started up and took off.
It’s quiet in the cab none of us spoke not even Sam. It felt like our heroic acts from six years ago, felt wasted. Damn. Will this Cybertronian war ever come to an end? Can we continue to fight them? The question is, is it worth the life lost?
The sun was starting to set in the west, the atmosphere changing to dread. A terrifying shiver runs down my spine.
I glanced in my rearview mirror. And I thought I saw Optimus approaching our apartment building.
Optimus stops in front of building letting Sam out, he runs inside most likely hoping that Carly was home.
"I wish I should have told you." I whispered. "No, you were right. I have doomed earth. I shouldn't have trusted..... HIM." Optimus murmurs.
I scoot towards him placing my hand on his cheek. "You’ve not doomed earth. We’re gonna help you win this war." I assured him. He looks into my eyes searching for anything other than truth.
No, Optimus please believe me.
Optimus lifts up my chin his bright electric beautiful eyes flash to my lips then back up to my eyes.
It’s quiet between us, and it made the moment a lot more painful. I was about to say something, but I wasn't able to speak. I truly hope that Optimus understands that he has to stop Sentinel from destroying earth.
The Decepticons can't win because if they do we will be no more and I know in my heart without me being by his side. Optimus would go on a murderous rampage killing every con in his wake to avenge me.
I will help him win this war like four years ago, he needs to understand that I’m much stronger than he thinks.
Optimus cups my cheeks kissing me softly on the lips.
Is this a goodbye kiss? I thought dreadfully. I’m snapped out of my thoughts by a hand banging on the passenger window.
Optimus lowers it and the person turns out to be Sam. "Lily! I need you to come me!"
