Sherlock looked judgingly at me. 'Really? Another one?' I nodded slightly. 'John seemed to like this champagne so much and I can't let him drink on his own.' Sherlock grinned. 'Yes, I understand. But you are aware of the fact that he can handle more alcohol than you, right? Though I think that, after a couple glasses, I'll be the only one still sober enough to function properly.'
I smiled as John entered the room with a tray in his hand. On it where three glasses of champagne. 'Here we are.' He said happily. I handed Sherlock another glass and said 'we shall see' as I took my glass.
'Happy New Year!' Said John and lifted his glass. Sherlock and I did the same and then started drinking. John, Sherlock and I were having a battle who would be the first to have drunk it all empty. Then I heard people outside screaming the count down. They were already screaming 'three'! I looked around and saw John and Sherlock still drinking. 'Two!' They were still drinking! How could I give my John the New Year's kiss when he's drinking?!
'One.'
I slapped the glass out of John's hand and kissed him, ignoring the champagne-taste and the sound of scattering glass. 'Happy New Year to you too.' He said happily afterwards and a hug followed. 'I hope it will be just as awesome as the previous one.'
Then he looked at the glass lying on the ground. 'Now we have to clean that up...' He said sadly and sighed. He wanted to get up but I stopped him with a smile. 'I don't think that's a great idea, John. I mean, look at you, you're totally drunk. I'm not feeling well either.' I lied and looked at Sherlock. 'Honestly, I think Sherlock should clean that up since he is the only one still sober enough to function properly. Right, Sherlock?'
And so Sherlock cleaned it up while John and I played drunk. Both laughing and talking rubbish until Sherlock was done.
