Recently things had been rough. Not just for you, but for the whole group. After the fall of the prison and the whole Terminus thing, the group was on the road for what seemed like forever. Food became rarer than ever, and everyone seemed to have lost hope.
There were times you would try to lighten the mood by telling a joke or anything you could, but people seemed to be annoyed with your 'desperate attempts'. People seemed more isolated from you, and Glenn took notice to that as soon as you started to isolate yourself.
He hadn't even realized that he was occasionally one of the people to give you that 'please shut up' look. But you did, and then he saw. Glenn tried to make it up to you, tried to make you happy as you once did for the whole group.
But nothing worked. He had isolated you and shut you out alongside many others in the group for what felt like months, and now you kept to yourself. You played a silent, but deadly role in the group. You took care of others, but didn't expect anyone else to take care of you. It didn't feel like anyone cared anymore, not even Glenn.
You had lost hope, lost everything now. It seemed as though the group was wandering aimlessly and you felt as though there wasn't any reason to it, other than survival. But survival wasn't enough, and that was something that some people now couldn't see.
Happiness is key, even at times such as then. But at this point, you weren't happy and it felt like life was dragging you along for a pointless ride that went absolutely no where. You longed for excitement, for adventure, for that key ingredient of happiness. But you found nothing but a dry and painful road that made you more and more miserable with each aggravating step.
There were times where you considered taking the easy way out, just ending your misery silently so no one would hear, but so you wouldn't come back as a walker. In fact, you planned a time to do so.
But something came up, and this time it didn't start with misery or weariness. It was a new beginning, one where you could take the time to find that thing to live for.Alexandria. The outside seemed normal, the usual wreckage and abandonment. But the inside was thriving. It was untouched, it was somewhere you considered a place of safety and rest. Your first day there you were extremely cautious. You mostly kept to yourself, but found that Glenn had taken that sort of protective boyfriend attitude which he had before.
You chose to remain silent, brushing him and anyone else off. You needed time, and now you had all the time in the world. Out on the road you would normally be worrying about where the group was going to sleep, how were you going to get food and water, and who was going to stay on watch. You had had no time to truly think of yourself and your needs. But now you had the time, and you were going to use it before going back into any relationships with anyone. You needed to.
