"Wei?" The mermaid said worriedly looking at Shuo Gang. The prince brows furrowed. He then turned around. He was about to walk away when her whine stopped him.

"Are you really just going to ignore me?"

"Mermaids are trouble. I'd rather not involve myself with one. I don't know what you're doing in the mortal realm. But you should quickly head back to the immortal realm. This place is dangerous for you. Greedy people if they find you will definitely sell or make you some sort of entertainment to earn money." He stated before walking again. The mermaid bit her lip. Tears falling from her eyes.

Don't look back. Don't go back. The prince repeated in his mind. However, when he heard her sob, his resolve broke. He turned around going back to her. She looked up. Tears streaming down her cheeks. He sighed, crouching down. "Don't cry. It's getting dark and the rulers of the Dream Tribe are probably looking for me. I'll bring you with me but can you at least transform your tail into human legs?"

She nodded, brushing her tears away. She then concentrated on her tail, turning it into human legs.

"Can you walk?" Shuo Gang asked again when she's done. She shook her head. This was also the first time that she did this transformation.

"Is it okay for me to carry you then?"

"O-okay."

The fire prince then moved. Gently, carrying her. "Put your arms around my neck." She obeyed. Sighing, when she felt his warmth. Not long she fell asleep. Tired of swimming far away from their kingdom.

~~~
The whole room was silent. Some eyes were wide at what they have witnessed. People subtly looked at the fire king and at his son then at Lan Shang who was staring at the screen in shock.
To say the least... it was pretty awkward.
What they didn't see though was the glint of amusement in the fire king's eyes.
~~~

Shuo Gang carefully laid the mermaid on the bed. The Old Astrologer king teased him for a while when he saw them. He sighed, shaking his head. This day was a crazy one.

Standing up, he went towards his window, watching the bright stars in the sky. Yan Da, I hope that wherever you are. You're alive and well. Remember that you promised that you'll see me become king. Don't even think of dying. He thought. Hands on the necklace that she gave him. It was pulsing strongly with her energy. That's his comfort, meaning she's still alive.

With Yan Da...

She tried manipulating her energy to quickly heal her wounds but it didn't work. Sighing, she laid back down to the bed. Phoenix was right. She wouldn't get far in her state right now. She needs time to recover. Which means she has to play along ...

She clicked her teeth. But if she became docile all of a sudden, he'd be suspicious. She needs to be defiant but not too much. She groaned in irritation. She'd never thought that she would do this kind of thing in her entire life.

At least, she knew that her brother is safe and sound. The necklace is connected to her. She could feel his worry. Don't worry brother. I won't break my promise.
