There was a knock at my door. The fifth one today. I figured it was time to come out of my hiding hole since so many people wanted my attention so much today. Still, my mind only rolled over to my mate. I checked the time on my cell as I made my way to the door. It was only 2pm. I still had more than half a day still ahead. I opened the door and saw Isaac standing behind the door, buttoning up his baby blue dress shirt to his neck.
He looked business casual and I couldn't figure it out. Was I forgetting to do something today? My mind was all mixed up. There were a few more moments of silence before he asked me, "You forgot, didn't you?"
I shook my head, stepping out of my room and closing my door behind me. "Do we have a meeting with someone important?" I started heading towards the throne room before he could answer me. If he was all dressed up and I wasn't, I must've forgot something.
"Come on, Alex." I could hear the scolding in his voice towards me. Only my Beta would step up to me like he was, but I let it slide, I was really tired regardless. "We have pack hearings. We only do it once a month. The least you can do is remember them."
"I've kinda have a lot to deal with this morning, Isaac." I stopped before entering in the throne room, checking my appearance and fixing the waves in my head before I entered.
Once I opened the grand door, there was a crowd of people waiting on me that hushed the moment they laid their eyes on me. I imagined I look much more lazy than Isaac did but I was the one that would grant these people their wishes. They wouldn't dare speak out of turn. I made my way to my chair, slumping down on it as Isaac stood next to me, chin raised high. Isaac was always an honorable man and no matter how much I would press him or ordered him around, he never really stepped out of line with me. I was grateful to have him as a Beta really but I wasn't ready to show that to him yet.
Isaac began to move the crowd, who had dared breath once I had entered, ushered the first person forward. The weak sickly man came forward. I hadn't recognized him as a part of my pack. I was very familiar with my people. The man shook in fear before he spoke to me. "Alpha Weston. My name is Harvey Grace, apart of pack Cylde and-and we as a pack are asking for your assistance."
I slowly rolled my eyes. Pack Clyde had been asking for help for months now and quite frankly it was becoming annoying. Not only was I no longer in a giving mood towards any other pack at this point, but I had other things to handle other than trying to save someone else. Kaseem was wearing me out all day.
The man continued, "Alpha Miles sends his understandings of how much he's been asking-"
I raised my hand to stop him. I could feel Isaac's eyes on me and a link soon coming through.
Kaseem spoke up. Isaac wants to link.
Let him through.
-You're not gonna let him leave this place alive, are you?
Are you against the decision?
-Not really. Would you want to do the honors?
