I left Ke'aysha in the room half asleep. She looked extremely tired the minute she laid in my arms. She looked so silent and peaceful lying there. When Isaac linked me I wanted to tell him to fuck off this is something important. But this thing was important too apparently.

Isaac had called a small council meeting with the immediate council heads, something was going on and Isaac wanted to keep this quiet. I made my way downstairs, my head swimming with the thoughts of what Isaac wanted to keep quiet and my little mate upstairs peacefully sleeping in my bed. Two important things in my mind going on at the same time.

I walked down the hall to the meeting room, Isaac already standing outside of it, chewing on his thumb. For once, I could immediately tell something was really wrong. His beard wasn't combed and I could see the lack of nail on his thumb that he's been chewing on it for so long. He spotted me and straightened up from the wall, "Alex." He said, out of breath as if he had been running a marathon.

I nodded to him, still taking in his appearance and how unkempt it was. It was very unlike him. "Isaac, you look like a mess."

"Thanks," he sarcastically scoffed, "Anyway, we got this letter from Pack Clyde." He handed me a folded piece of letter.

I stared at him for a moment staring at the one piece of flimsy paper he was holding. My brows furrowed at him, "All of...that-" I referenced his face and appearance, "Is all about Pack Clyde?"

He shook his head, "Unrelated." He shoved the paper at me again, "Just read the paper, man."

I took the paper from him and unfolded it, it was only a half page letter, but it was heavier than a piece of paper.

"Dear, Alpha Weston,

I write this letter as a warning to you about murdering a dearly held messenger of my Pack. He was a father to two beautiful young girls in my pack and a husband to a good friend of mine and I don't appreciate the disrespect you have sent to my pack.

I understand I have been asking a lot of your and your resources and I will cease to collect them from this point forward. No more need to worry about us anymore.

-Alpha Clyde

Ps: If I find any more aggression towards my people, Pack Hollins is prepared to team up with our army."

This wasn't a declaration of war, but he had added a few more words, it would have been. I glanced back up to Isaac who was still chewing on the nail on his thumb for anxious reasons. He sat next to a cracked open door and peered through it, seeing the three major council members sitting at a table talking amongst each other, each with a grave look in their eyes.

I turned my attention back to Isaac and addressed him like a friend like he needed it, "What's going on with you?"

He looked up and me and shook his head, his first sign that he was shutting me out, "It's...it's about that letter."

I scoffed, "You liar. You just told me it wasn't. You can't hide from me." I told him.

He shook his head again, "It's whatever." He pushed past me and into the room with the members. I ignored his outburst and followed behind him, taking the seat at the head of the table. I leaned back in my chair, the room quiet and expectant for me to do something.

I decided to kick it off, noticing that Isaac was checked out of the conversation that hadn't even started, "So, I'm assuming that we've all read the letter?" I asked. After a nod from everybody, I continued. "Well, any thoughts?"
