Ke'aysha was right on my heels as I exited the middle school, gripping me on the shoulder to turn me around to her. I had left the principal in the auditorium without a job by Friday and out of breath. Ke'aysha was definitely not happy with me.

"Alex, did you have to nearly kill him for all of that?" She asked me, pointing back go the school.

I furrowed my brows a little bit, surprised that she would still question me when she saw what I saw. "The dude's a dick. I had to appoint him and he was simply the one that was less of a dick."

"So you leave him there to die?!" She was raising her voice as she spoke, getting herself pent up over the piece of shit in the floor that didn't care about his students.

"You saw, Callie. You can't just see that and think that's okay for someone to be that underweight and that malnourished. He neglected his students so I saw him for to keep him from that position." I tried to keep calm with her, clenching my jaw as I felt Kaseem waking up again.

Why is she questioning You? Does she trust you to make these types of decisions?

She simply isn't used to it. Her moral high grounds are obviously much different then mine. Relax on it will you.

Ke'aysha stepped up to me and I could see the border of tears collecting at the edges of her eyelashes she was so close. She scolded up at me in disapproval, "All you do is resort to violence." She muttered, almost scared to say it out loud to me. The stare between us never broke, simply two wolves staring each other down, almost threatening each other's power.

I simply let my tongue slip with words, "Violence gets through to people. It's a lot more effective than wasting my breath." I admitted to her honestly.

She looked as if I had physically slapped her. She placed a hand on her chest, offended by what I had said to get here. The anger bubbled over inside her, "And that's why my family is dead, huh? Because you can't make some fucking conversation! All you do is kill! Goddess! The Goddess gave me a killer and here I am standing by him like he wouldn't kill me in a heartbeat!"

No words could come to me. The secret is out and we both know it. I was really hurt, but also very taken aback by her saying this to my face. I was speechless and didn't know how to respond to her. I was fighting Kaseem, trying to push the anger down from him but also flabbergasted by her thinking I would hurt her like that. I didn't know what to say to her and sadly, my pride was too big for me to even swallow.
