Alice's POV
Rose had come over. She said she came to help, but I think she came just to see me embarrass myself like normal.
She begged me to let her put makeup on me, so I let her.
It's wasn't bad, but she put so much on my freckles weren't visible. I claimed I was going to wash my hands but I took the makeup off. She complained for a while but eventually got over it.
"What are your guys' plans tonight?" Rose asked.
"Honestly, I have no idea he has this big plan. At least that's what he told me," I said putting my wavy hair up. She gave me a confused look.
"Why are you trying to impress a boy? A boy that has been your friend for like ever."
"I'm not trying to impress anyone, I just want to look nice because I have no clue what he's up to."
"What if you're going to a Quidditch game?"
"I've already checked, there are no games and he said he was dressing nicer too."
Rose rolled her eyes and smiled. She went over to the window that faces James', "Darn, his curtains are closed!"
"Bummer," I just had to say sarcastically.
I didn't want to wear a dress so I put on something that the muggles call a romper. Mum had gotten it for me the last time she was in the city.
I was ready to go and was talking to Rose when I heard the downstairs door open. I wanted to rush down, but for the fact of not embarrassing myself I walked down with Rose at my heals. Dad was already talking to James.
Oh goodness, dad don't embarrass me.
James didn't notice me at first, but as my dad carried on about safety, he smiled.
I laughed silently. I mouthed to him, "I'm sorry."
I could see in his blue-green eyes that he was wanted my dad to stop talking, but he had always put up with the Longbottom nonsense. Especially me. Honestly have no idea how he had put up with me for so long.
Jamie is that type of person who wants to be outside and do what he wants. He's rebellious and funny. Yet, he is the nicest person I have met.
My dad talked for about 15 more minutes until he realized I was standing there.
"Oh, Alice. Have a good time! Be safe! Love you," my dad said.
"Don't worry Mr. Longbottom, I'll keep her safe," James smiled.
"Love you, dad," I hugged my dad and turned to Jamie.
"Ready?" he asked.
"Ready," I smiled.
