New Years Gain

Happy New Years
Bring joy and tears
For all that's passed,
And all that won't last.

It's time to let go
Of last year sorrow
And look on ahead
With all wishes said.

In honor of 2017,
And life as a teen,
I wish you the best
And lay it to rest.

You stood by me
When life got stormy
And although I feel distant
You'd be there in an instant.

You're my bestfriend
It's easy to comprehend
How much you matter to me
This is not even flattery.

For so many day and nights
We've seen many sights
And you stood by my side
With nothing to hide.

If I had to choose an idol
I'd choose you with your kind soul.
You go through hell
But you never really tell
Yet you're so strong
And nothing seems wrong.

Everyone loves you, really.
Those who hate you are just silly;
They're probably just jelous
And I'm being serious
When I say you're the sun,
You always know how to have fun.

I look up to your light
And all the battles you fight
Whether they're internal
Or a burning infernal,
Because you're a warrior;
You're many's Savior.

I'm proud to say
I'm still your friend today.
I'm proud to have known
The strength you've shown.
And I'm proud to see
Every possibility
That friends we will remain
With everything to gain.
