You're Not Alone

A young girl says

That you deserve to live.

She knows not your pain

But the hope you give.

Everybody hurts,

But you are still here

Living through your worst

And living through your fear.

She says to hold on,

Because she knows that you are strong.

She knows that the days are long,

But this world is where you belong.

She hears you cursing

Into the night sky

And she hears you wishing

That you would just die.

Your words are harsh

And it breaks her heart.

She sees you bleeding

But you call it art.

She yells at you

But she doesn't mean it,

She only wants you to stop;

She can't take another hit.

It feels like she's shattering

With everything you do,

But still she's fighting

Because she loves you.

To this young girl,

You are her life.

She can't lose you yet,

So put down that knife.

Maybe you don't remember her

But trust me, you will,

For she is in your heart

And she's very real.

Take a look in the mirror,

And look at your face.

I guarantee you, she's there

In every single place.

She's in your eyes

As they glow in the light.

She's there in your arms

So please hug her tight.

She's there in your creases

So make sure to smile.

She's there in your life,

So stay a long while,

Because you may not love her,

But she loves you with every cell.

She will always be by your side

To make sure you're doing well.

This young girl is you, actually.

It is me and everybody.

We all care that you're happy

And we want you to be.

So keep these words within,

Somewhere you can find,

For when you feel low,

We're not far behind.

We'll stand by you

In your darkest hours

And we will hold your hands

Tightly in ours.

You're never alone,

Just remember us.

We and many others care,

So please don't give up.
