Chapter 6

I wiped away all the tears that had fallen down my face and made my way to the liquor store. I grabbed a bottle of vodka and apple sourz and made my way to pay. They didn’t even ask for my ID which was a bonus.

I walked back to the park, sipping the vodka. It burned my throat as it went down but it felt nice as it numbed my heart ache. I have never drunk before so the alcohol went straight to my head.

After about half of the vodka I was already tipsy. I did a few apple sourz shots and now I was completely drunk. It was a weird feeling being drunk, I felt really light and felt like I was invincible.

I was sat on the swing with my head leaning again the chain that held it up. I was drifting off to sleep when I heard someone call my name.

“Lacey!?” the voice was getting closer but I didn’t have the energy to open my eyes to see who it was. I felt two hands cup my face “Lacey, look at me”

I opened my heavy eyes to see Corey crouched in front of my with a concerned expression on his face.

“You’re so beautiful” I slurred out as I touched his face

He chuckled “I think someone is a bit drunk”

“I’m not *hiccup* drunk” I stood up but Corey had to catch me when I nearly fell over.

“What you doing out here by yourself anyway?”

“Jayden left me here. All alone. Like I’ll always be” tears started to spill down my face again. Corey had a frown on his face.

“What do yo-“

“Shhhhh” I cut him off by placing my finger on his mouth. I replaced my finger with my lips as I pulled his head down to mine. He lips were nice and moist. When he didn’t respond, I pushed harder but he just pulled away.

“Whoaa there” he chuckled

“Now you don’t even want me! Am I that unloveable!” I exclaimed as more tears poured down my face. I didn’t hear his reply as my legs gave out under me and I fell into blackness.

(Corey’s POV)

I was walking home from work, taking the shorter route through the park when I saw a girl in the park practically asleep on the swing. At first I was just going to walk past but when I started to walk closer it looked an awful lot like Lacey from school.

Walking over to her I noticed that it was in fact, Lacey.

“Lacey?!” I called out. When I got no reply cupped her face in my hands and pulled her head around to face me. Her eyes were half shut and it looked like she was having trouble opening them. Suddenly panicked I said “Lacey, look at me”
