Hello fam

Thanks for sticking around till this point, even though I know I should have updated since as promised. Sorry.

Just like I promised in the last chapter, your questions will be used to create this chapter. However, the questions are too good to be compressed into a single chapter, so I'll answer as much as I can here and then finish up in the next. Biko, please don't be too angry with yours truly.

NB: Some questions will be answered as a story, for instance question one. Hope you enjoy them.

Question No. 1
What was her dad's reaction? Asked by cherryuzoamaka1 MewilsKoks LorainGillaspie

I felt alive when the cool breeze blew harshly on my face as the cyclist sped through to our house. My elder cousin and grandma were more than surprised to see me home. As I alighted and ruffled the money in my palms to pay the young man, my cousin ran out happily, welcoming me with a tight but warm hug. Grandma wasn't left out as she struggled out, her right hand supporting her weak waist.

"You came home with nothing Nne, o wu gini? (what happened?)" My cousin asked impatiently, not minding that the young cyclist was still there. I shrugged, laughing at her impatience.

Once I waved the young man off, I ran into the waiting embrace of my aged grandma who squeezed me tight. "You look pale, hungry and tired nwa m" She commented as she swirled me around. "Have you even taken something today?" She pressed the more, her eyes burning into mine. I smiled deeply as I helped her sit on the brief stairs leading to the pavement. I sat beside her too, taking her frail hands in mine.

"Let your sister make something hot for you, maybe eba?" She more of commanded than suggested.

My cousin didn't need to be told as she rushed into the backyard for some firewood. From where I sat, I could hear her noisy footsteps making strong sounds as she tried making the fire.

I'm home.

"Your dad didn't inform us that you were coming" Grandma said.

"That's because I ran away. He doesn't know, no one knows." I replied. Grandma smiled and squeezed my tiny hands.

"You're home now. Forever."

I sat on a low wooden chair with an upturned mortal sitting before me. A big stone was resting on it with some palm kernels decorating the base of the mortar. The joy of breaking and eating soft kernels can not be understood especially as I felt it's milky juice circulating round my mouth as I chew on them.

It's been two days since I ran away from home, and as silly as it sounds, I'm getting too used to this humble but sweet life.

"Here you are!" I heard my cousin say. She was all sweaty and from her countenance, I could say she has been searching for me.

"Do you want some?" I asked, stretching and opening my palms so she could view the few kernels I'd broken, but she shook her head.

"Your dad is very angry with you, I mean he's speaking with nnenne (that's what we fondly call our grandma) right now. He's asking to speak with you, so Nnenne said I should come fetch you." She said with so much tension. As for me, I instantly felt I'd lost a part of me. My dad getting angry is one thing, but being mad at me is another. I really hate getting on his nerves.

"Let's go now" My cousin said dragging me up. Reluctantly, I followed sheepishly.

As we approached, I deduced grandma was still on with my dad from the way her frail hands pressed the poor phone into her ears. As I got closer, she turned to me and without words slowly handed me the phone, not forgetting to give me a reassuring smile.

"Hello sir, good afternoon" I murmured as inaudibly as I can. The rest was blurry....

"What nonsense is this? What kind of silly attitude did you just display? Running away from home? What was pursuing you? What were you thinking Nneogo...."

"I'm sorry sir.... "

"This is no time for apologies. Before I'd count ten, just enter the next bus and get yourself to that house! You only leave there when I say so! Are we clear?"

"Yes sir"

"No child of mine will behave like a moron. Don't even let me call my mother's number again, if not....  I want them to call me tomorrow that you're home!"

And the line went dead.

"He asked you to go back right?" Grandma asked as she saw me crying, and I nodded with pain. She smiled. "Don't worry, you're not going anywhere. You have an elder brother who is old enough to overrule his order. I'll take care of this. Just go in and rest" She reassured me.

And yes for the first time ever, all four of us siblings came together and screamed a strong NO to our dad. For the very first time, his command wasn't obeyed.

Question No2: What were Mama, aunt  Agnes and aunt Oby's reaction?
Asked by Thefabulous9 Nekkychuks Bietonye MewilsKoks

It was a breaking point for them in the sense that her departure bred accusations and counter accusations on whose fault it was that she escaped. As Nneogo heard, shortly after her escape (that was after aunt Agnes' husband visited and left the shores of Nigeria,) mama and her kids moved out of the house with aunt Oby and her boyfriend renting a smaller apartment to start off their new family. Mama moved back to the old building while aunt Agnes got hers as well.

Question No3: Did she ever come across the stranger who bought her gala and gifted her #100?
Asked by itsclarah20

Sadly no, she never did.

Question No4: Is there a sequel?
Asked by cliche_iknow

For now I've not decided. But believe me when I say Nneogo's experience after she left Mama's home deserves to be written.

Question No5: Did Nneogo continue with her studies? And will she be rich?
Asked by esterkenga HabibahMuhammad

Yes she did. She has her Bsc now and recently kicked off her Masters degree.
I believe Nneogo is still a work in progress. She isn't wildly rich now, but at least is quite comfortable.
