Part 16

-Your Pov-

The next morning, you sit with your team, RWBY and JNPR. Weiss and Ruby seem to be a lot closer, and you suspect she took your words to heart, and gave an apology. The two of them seem to have settled into a bit of a better dynamic as they talk about a study plan between the two of them to help Ruby do better in class. " Still," says Leliana. " It isn't her fault if she ends up bombing in Port's class. Oum, I hate listening to his stories."

This makes all of the people at the table laugh, and add their agreement. " Yeah," adds John. " That class makes me just want to die." More laughter, and then Yang sends him a flirty smirk.

" Well, I mean don't do that," she tells him. " I mean, you already fell out of heaven the one time already didn't you?" He laughs, blushes slightly and then takes a sip from the juice-box given with the school breakfast.

" Nah," he corrects her. " I didn't fall out of heaven. I did break a nail when I crawled outta hell." This makes Yang laugh, and the two of them fall out of the rest of the conversation, basically just flirting with each other, leaving everyone else to discuss the upcoming day.

Before the conversation gets much further, a cry of pain is heard from someone. Turning to see the source of it, you see a rabbit faunas having her ears pulled on by Cardin and his group. The conversation quickly becomes about how much everyone at the table hates him so much, and you can't help but agree with the sentiment. Nora perkily suggests that you can break his legs. Everyone starts to tell her that it's not smart, but then Gideon stands up. " It actually might not be such a bad idea," he says, as he walks over to the group.

Cardin turns to him when he gets closer. " Oh, hey Foxy. Hey, we're just having fun okay? I just wanted to show my friends that her ears were real. Where's the harm in that? Oh, while I'm thinking about it, is your tail real?"

Gideon doesn't bother to reply. Instead, he reaches and forcefully pries Cardin's hand away from the girl's ears. He applies more force, and then the sound of a crunch can be heard. " Leave. Her. Alone." Cardin yelps in pain, and the rest of team CRDL surrounds Gideon. Gesturing to John and Leliana, the three of you go over to help Gideon out. Seeing this, CRDL leaves, not wanting to fight the four of you.

With this, Gideon starts to walk away, until the rabbit faunas calls out to him. " Um, excuse me? Have we met before? I think someone who looked a lot like you saved me from someone with a gun one time?"

He looks at her skeptically. " Sorry. Doesn't ring a bell," he tells her, and then starts walking to sit back down on the table. However, she does introduce herself to him as ' Velvet', and you swear you can see a small smile touch his face. He turns back around to her. " If they bother you again, just let me know. I'll be sure to help you out."

Saying that, the four of you go and sit down at the table. Nora gets really happy about how awesome it was when the crunch sound came out when Gideon grabbed Cardin. Your table starts talking about how faunas shouldn't be discriminated against, and how you all hate bullies.

-Weiss Pov-

I smile at seeing Gideon easily overpower Cardin. Of all the students at the school I dislike, he is the one highest one the list. Not just his treatment of the faunas, but his every mannerism. Simply put, he is the worst kind of bully. It also makes me smile to see (y/n) get up to assist Gideon without hesitating for a second.

it just shows to me that he still has the same heart as he did when we were kids. He still stands up for his friends, and is always quick to stand up for those being bullied, or just stand up for people who can't stand up for themselves.

-Flashback-

I sit on the bench in the playground, and wait for (y/n). Recently, he bought a copy of Remnant: The Board Game. I never have played or heard of the game, but his excitement is infectious and he managed to convince me to play the game with him. However, he got in trouble for not listening in class and so has to be lectured by the teacher for awhile before he can join me. In this time, a group of bullies come over to me. " What do you want," I ask softy. One of them leers, before pointing at the snowflake necklace (y/n) bought for me.

" How much did that cost you," he asks, before reaching for it. I pull back as far as I can on the bench. " I bet it was really cheap when your father bought out my dad and his company. Probably have plenty of these. I deserve just this one."

Before he can grab it, I see (y/n) walk over to us. He hands me his copy of the game before turning to the bullies. " Just leave her alone," he says. " No matter what her father does, it isn't up to her. And besides, her dad didn't buy her that necklace. I did."

" Oh, why? You her boyfriend? I can't imagine you getting her something for any other reason than that. Spoiled bitch has more than any of us combined." I know this boy is probably repeating a word he heard without knowing what it means, but (y/n) is having none of it. In seconds, he's on them, throwing punches and kicks. In the end, he gets a detention, but promises he and I can play the game some other time.

-Present Day-

I smile, and thank Oum. (y/n) is the still the same lovable idiot with a big heart he always has been. And now, I want him to be my lovable idiot with a big heart.
