Part 28

-Velvet Pov-

I sit with Gideon at a table, and laugh at something he said when he brushed his head on one of the lights. He grumbles about being too tall before sitting down at the table with me. Smiling at him, I reach over and cup his hands. " So, Gideon. Are you having a good time?" He nods at me happily, before taking a sip from his punch.

" Just a great time," he says. " I mean, you guys did an amazing job setting this up. This is just beautiful, and the music is amazing."  When he says this last bit, he points at his teammate Leliana who performs tonight's music. He turns back to me. " And of course, I'm here with you which is just awesome."

I blush for a minute, before getting more serious. " Hey Gideon. When you came to the school, did you really not recognize me?" He sighs, and shakes his head. I place my hands over his, and smile at him.

-Flashback Velvet Pov-

Walking down the street at night, I curse myself. I didn't mean to be out long enough for it to get dark. I just wanted to go get something for school, and be back to my dorm in a few hours at most. And yet, the sun has set. I shiver when the breeze passes me, and again wish I was here with someone from my team.

My regret about this only gets worse when a man with a hood and a gun bursts into view. His gun is aimed at me, and he sneers. " Dumb bunny. All alone at night. Tell you what, just give me your money and I'll let you go."

More panicked than ever, I reach into my bag. I go to hand him the remaining money I have, but a gunshot rings out. The man's hand explodes into blood, and he cries out in pain. From the shadows, a man walks out, with a shotgun in his hands. Steam flies from the barrel. The man who tried to rob me reaches back for his gun.

" You could do that," the man with the shotgun warns. " But, being this is the most advanced shotgun in the world, it will blow your head off in a single shot. Tonight has been an exciting night for me, so I don't know if I've fired all my shots. So, you gotta ask yourself kid. Do I feel lucky? Well do you punk?"

The thug stops reaching for his gun, and the man with a shotgun starts to walk away. " Wait," says the would-be the thief, prompting the other man to turn around. " I gots to know." This causes him to smirk. He aims the shotgun at his face, and pulls the trigger. I panic and cover my ears to try and not here the loud gun shot. However, the gun simply clicks. With that, he walks off.

-Present Day-

I recount him the story, and he gives a shrug and a smile. " I'm really sorry Vel, but I don't remember that," he says. " When I left the White Fang, I did a lot of things like that. I drifted the world until Ozpin found me. In that time, I fought for the faunas. I saved a lot of people."

As I nod, he stand up and smiles. He reaches out with his hand. " Come on. Wanna dance?" I smile, and take his hand. He guides me out into the dance floor, and places his hands around my hips. It takes me a good deal of effort, but I manage to put my hands around his shoulders. The two of us sway side to side, and he gives me a big smile.

-Leliana Pov-

As Juane goes to get us another drink, I find Phyrra looking sad. I go over to her, and place my hand on her shoulder. " Hey, are you okay?" She looks up at me confused, and does her best to give me a flimsy smile.

" Of course Leliana," she lies. " The dance is lovely thanks to Team CFVY and RWBY. And of course, your music is lovely. Are you having a good time with Juane?" When she asks this, her voice breaks a little bit. I knew about her crush on Juane, but I only know realize just how deep her feelings for him run.

" Yes I am," I tell her, and she does her best to give a smile. " Look, he cares a lot about you. Even if he doesn't see you the way you see him, he does care a lot about you. Whenever I'm with him, he mentions how you're helping him train, and he appreciates it so much."

Phyrra nods at me, and starts rubbing her arm sadly. " Well, I'm glad he found someone he can be happy with," she says, an odd mix of happy and sad. " Please take good care of him." I nod, and then Juane comes over with two drinks of punch.

He and I walk off, and he smiles at me. " So, I saw you talking with Phyrra. Who is she with?" I look at him confused. As much as I like him, how dense could he possibly be? Can he seriously not tell that Phyrra has feelings for him?

" She's not here with anyone," I tell him. He hears this, and his eyes widen with shock. " Juane, what is it?"

" Leliana, I made a promise," he says vaguely. " She's helped me so much, and I owe her this one thing. I promise you that I will be back." I look at him confused, and I must not be going a good job of hiding it. " An Ark always pays his debts. I promise you I'll be back when I do this one thing."

Nodding, he walks off. Looking over, I eventually see him in a dress, dancing with Phyrra and Team JNPR. I smile at what he'll do to make his friends smile. I also feel sorry for Phyrra. As they dance, her eyes are laced with love for him, but Juane looks at her seeing only his best friend. However, I know it makes her night for the two of them to dance.

When the song ends, Juane takes a minute to change back into his suit. He makes his way over to me, and offers his hand. I begin to dance with him, and rest my head on his chest. The two of sway in time to the music, and in my mind, this lasts forever.

-John Pov-

Dancing with Yang, I send her into a spin. When I catch her, she smiles at me. " I had no idea you were a dancer," she says. Smiling, I continue to dance with her.

" Nah. I can only really dance like this," he says. " Now, if you wanted me to do some fast dance, then it would not be happening like this. I just like slow-dancing with pretty people."

" Lady-killer," she teases, before giving me a punch to the chest. We dance for awhile, before she pulls me in for a passionate kiss. Pulling away only when the need to breathe becomes too much, we stare at each other in awe afterwards. This is nice, peaceful. I hope it can be like this for the rest of our lives.

-Your Pov-

Swaying with Weiss, you smile at her, and remember dancing with her all those years ago as a kid. This time, she doesn't need to guide you through the motions. She teases you for this to, and then looks at you. " I love you," she tells you again. And like the first time, it warms your heart.

" I love you too Weiss Cream," you tell her, and she giggles, blushes before looking away. The two of you dance all night, before it ends. The two of you walk back to the dorms, and stand in the doorway. You look at her lovingly, and she pulls you into a passionate kiss. Pulling away, she starts poking his fingers together.

" Can we cuddle together tonight? Just cuddle, nothing weird." Smiling, you climb into the bed with her. She takes a while to change into pajamas before joining you. Weiss curls into a ball, and then you wrap your arms around her. Warmth radiates from her, and you manage to get to sleep right away.
