-Your Pov-

The doors of the Bullhead open, and you see just how much damage the city has taken. You can tell right away that no one lives here, and that no one has for some time. It fills you with sadness to see how far gone this city is. " Tell me," starts Oobleck. " When you look out at this city, what do you see?"

Members of either team shoot out answers, until Oobleck holds up his hands. " I see lives that could have been saved," he says, and everyone stops. The weight of his answer sets in, and so does the harsh reality of it. He gives a small sad smile, and then gestures for the two teams to go ahead of him.

As you walk, Weiss reaches for your hand. You give it to her, and she holds onto your hand. Walking for awhile, you eventually hear a roar. Looking over to see the source, you see dozens of Beowolves and Ursa walking for you. You initially shrug when you see all of them, until more and more flood in. There seem to be no end in sight to them, and you roll your eyes. Letting go of Weiss, you grab into Zabimaru. Everyone else steps forward with their weapon in hand, and gets ready to fight.

Leaping into battle, you begin to fight against the Grimm. As you fight, you're aided by Leliana using her Semblance to keep you energized, and Gideon turns into red mist to blow back the Grimm. Eventually, all of the Grimm fall. As everyone takes a moment to catch their breath, Oobleck comes over to you.

" Tell me (y/n)," he says. " Why did you want to become a huntsman?" His question surprises you, as you never took the time to think about why. It just seemed like the right thing to do, so you decide to tell him this. However, he shakes his head. " No one dedicates their entire life to a cause without taking the time to think about it. Deep down, you know why you want to be a huntsman."

You take a minute to think about it. " It's just something I always wanted to do," you tell him. " The idea of saving people always appealed to me. And then, there's someone I want to protect more than anything."

He looks at you as he considers your answer, before nodding and then dashing off. You roll your eyes as you seem bounce from team member to team member. Before you can get too irritated by him asking this question and bouncing around, more Grimm flood out.

-Gideon Pov-

As more Grimm flood in, Oobleck comes over to me. From a distance, I use my arm cannon and shotgun to assist my team. They seem to be managing without my Semblance, so I decide to keep it in my back pocket. Turning to Oobleck, I get irritated, and wonder if he plans on helping us at all. However, he just idly drinks from his coffee. " Tell me Gideon. Why did you choose to become a huntsman?"

Rolling my eyes, I load another clip into my gun. I know Oobleck is persistent enough that he won't simply go away if I give sarcastic answers. " The faunas suffer equality every day. I want to become a huntsman for two reasons. It will show the faunas that there are ways to get respect other than violence. And to become a champion of faunas equality."

He nods, before walking off to another team member. " What an odd guy," I mutter to myself as he leaves. I load another round into the gun, and keep firing. Idly, I wonder if there is ever going to be an end to the Grimm. I also wonder what the point of him asking the question is. Shrugging, I go back to helping my team members.

-Leliana Pov-

In one of the moments in between fighting the Grimm, I smile as I watch my team. (y/n) and Weiss stand together, her hand on his shoulder as they take a breath. Gideon lets out empty round from his barrel. John has his arm slung around Yang, and she rests her head on his shoulder. I place my bow over my shoulder, and silently wish Juane was with us. I turn to Gideon, and smile at him, wondering if he misses Velvet. Before I can do anything else, Oobleck makes his way over to me.

" Tell me Leliana," he says. " Why did you choose to become a huntsman?" I sigh. He's been asking my team this, and I wonder the point of this. Luckily, I've taken the time to think of an answer to this.

" I've made mistakes in the past," I admit to him. " And because of some of those, people have gotten hurt. I don't know if I can ever truly make up for that all the way. But, becoming a huntsman is at least part of the process."

He nods, and then dashes off, presumably to ask John that question. Rolling my eyes, I prepare to keep walking off. But just then, more Grimm start flooding in. Oum, are there no end to these things in the city?"

-John Pov-

After the latest Grimm attack, we find a place to stay for the night. The teams are divided, and each given a corner of the room. Oobleck sits in a level above us, and then all eight of us turn to each other. We start playing rock-paper-scissors to decide the order we have to take watch in. I roll my eyes when I lose before walking out. Before I do, Yang plants a kiss on my cheek.

Sitting outside, Oobleck comes to join me. " Tell me John. Why  did you choose to become a huntsman?" I look up to the sky, and take in the night air. All day, I've heard him asking this to everyone instead of actually helping us fight the Grimm. But, you know.

" I have some things in my past I want to make up for," I tell him. " But, that's only part of it. I also enjoy fighting Grimm, and doing the right thing. It just feels good." He nods at me, and then walks back inside.

-Your Pov-

Oobleck is quick to sugar crash in his upstairs canopy. The seven of you sit inside, and talk about why he asked all of you the reasons for being a huntsman. You discuss your answers, until you all grow tired. " Hey Weiss," you ask. " Can I get a kiss goodnight?" She smiles, and then walks over to you.

She places a kiss on your lips, and then walks back to her sleeping back. " Good night Weiss Cream," you mutter, fading to sleep.

( i just wanted to do a chapter revealing more about your team. next chapter is Grimm invasion, and then Winter meeting Weiss, and knowing (y/n) is dating her)
