Rydel's POV

"Rydel, sweetie!  It's time to go," My mom coos as she pokes her head in my room.  I cross my arms over my chest and make my best attempt to ignore her, but that doesn't last long.  She grabs my arm and helps me down the stairs, where I see Taylor waiting.  Across the room, my brothers all give him kind smiles while Ellington gives him the evil eye.

"Hello Rydel," Taylor smiles kindly before kissing my hand.

"Hi Taylor," I sigh.

"Shall we go?" he asks.

"Sure," I say expressionlessly.  Taylor guides me out of my house and helps me into the car before putting my crutches in the back seat.

"How are you today?" Taylor asks as he starts driving.

"I'm fine.  And you?" I ask.

"Fantastic," he smiles.  A few seconds later, we pull up to the creepiest looking house on the street.

"Wow, you live close," I sigh with surprise.

"I do," he smiles as he helps me out of the car.  He gives me my crutches back and he helps me inside, where his parents and creepy brother are waiting.  The house is dimly lit, giving it a creepy feel.  I immediately feel unsafe.

"Rydel!  Hi!  I'm Susan," Taylor's mom smiles cheerfully as she engulfs me in a hug.  She then shoves me into Taylor's dad, who hugs me as well and gives me a kiss on the cheek.

"I'm Robert, but you can call me Rob," he smiles.  I stumble back into Taylor, who wraps his arms around me from the back and holds me close.  I feel a little bit safer with him, but not much.

"Um, nice to meet you?" I say with confusion.

"I'm Chase," Taylor's older brother growls while leering at me with his creepy amber eyes.  My instinct is screaming at me to run, but I wouldn't get very far with my cast.

"Please sit," Taylor's mom invites as Taylor sits me down in one of the chairs at the table.  He sits down next to and places one of my hands on the table.  He places his hand on top of mine and holds it tightly.  Taylor's family sits down as well, and all of their eyes land on me.

"Wow Taylor, you sure have gotten yourself a pretty girlfriend," his dad says, giving him a little nudge. Girlfriend?  I turn my head to give Taylor a look, but the moment I do, he crashes his lips onto mine.  My eyes dilate in fear as I quickly jerk my head back.

"I sure have," Taylor smiles proudly.  My heart starts pounding in fear as I scramble to get my phone out of my pocket.  I grasp my phone as I become too nervous to speak.  I need Ellington.

"Well dinner is all ready whenever we want it.  Should we bring it out now?" Taylor's mom asks, directing the question at me.

"Sure," I say warily.  With that, Taylor and his parents head into the kitchen and I am left alone with Chase.  I ignore him for a moment as I send Ellington a text.

RYDEL

Ellie, I don't feel safe

I get a response a few seconds later.

ELLINGTON

What's wrong, babe.

RYDEL

Just a gut feeling.  Can you come to the house?  It's only a few blocks away.  When you see the house that looks like a haunted mansion, you've found it.

ELLINGTON

I'll be there in a moment, babe.

RYDEL

Thx

"What are you doing?" Chase asks.

"Just texting my friend," I answer, trying to hide my fear.  A few seconds later, Taylor and his parents begin setting food on the table.  I don't want to be rude and not eat, but my stomach is tied in knots at the moment.  After a few minutes of Taylor's family trying to talk to me, they begin talking amongst themselves as I quietly pick at my food.  Once I feel my phone vibrate, I excuse myself to the bathroom.

ELLINGTON

I'm here!  What now?

RYDEL

I'm in the bathroom on the left side of the house.  Sneak in the window.

A few seconds later, I'm looking into my Ellington's eyes.

"Hey baby," he smiles at me.

"Ellington," I sigh in relief as I open the window for him.  I help him through and he falls into my arms.

"So I get what you mean about this place looking like a haunted mansion.  It's creepy as hell!" Ellington exclaims.

"Shh!" I snap.

"Sorry," he whispers.

"It's ok, just come here," I sigh as I melt into his lips.

"Better now?" Ellington asks as we pull away.  I nod as I wrap my arms around him.  He strokes my back as he comforts me.  I shut my eyes and rest my head on his shoulder as he holds me close.  My tranquil state is soon broken as I hear the door open.  Ellington and I look over to see Chase leaning against the door.  I let out a whimper as I cuddle closer to Ellington.

"I know," Chase announces.

"What do you know?" Ellington shouts at him.

"I know your plans to run away.  I'm going to warn you now, don't," he growls.

"Look dude, just stay out of our business!" Ellington yells.

"This is my business too.  You're dating my brother," Chase states.

"He never ran that by me!" I exclaim.

"I don't care.  You're boyfriend and girlfriend, you parents have already made arrangements for you to move in with him, and you're going to spend your lives together," he snaps.

"I am a human being!  I am not property!  I won't move in with him unless I want to, which I don't!" I exclaim.

"You will want to.  You're going to move in with him and you are not, under any circumstances, going to run away, or bad things will happen," he threatens.

"No she won't.  We're going to do whatever we want and you will not influence our decision," Ellington growls.

"Bad things will happen.  Get out," he growls at Ellington.  "Now."  Ellington rolls his eyes and jumps back out the window as Chase drags me out of the bathroom.  He sits me back down in the dining chair and we finish our dinner.  After a few long hours of conversation, Taylor finally takes me home.

When I get there, I hobble inside and I see a piece of brown hair poking out of the blanket on the couch.  I sit on the couch and straddle Ellington and I close my eyes before pulling the blanket off his face and giving him a nice, long kiss.  He struggles to push me off of him and I open my eyes to see...Rocky!

"Ew!" I shriek.  "Rocky, what are you doing on the couch?"

"Ugh, I'm sleeping here so that wouldn't happen between you and Ellington!' he whispers.

"Oh gosh ew," I sigh as I get off him.

"Goodnight Rocky," I say quickly as I haul myself up the stairs.  I collapse on my bed and I hear sounds from Riker's room.

"Rydel's home," somebody whispers.

"Go back to sleep, Ellington," Riker growls.  I press my ear against the wall, hoping to hear my sweet fiance's voice once more, but he remains quiet.  Well, at least this creepy evening has finally come to an end.
